- Wedding: September 2012
Hello everyone,
I am getting married in september and have a budget of 30 grand for the wedding but already we are overbudget. We have a total of 40 grand liquid for this wedding but I was hoping not to spend it all. I guess I wouldn’t mind spending all of it if I thought everyone would come but Im afraid that a lot of guests might not show up because it is kind of out of the way (ie its about 5 miles outside of the city–in the country). And for people living in jackson, MS, I guess thats “out of the way.” My dad is the main person saying this but my mom and fiance’s family says that is not a big deal. They say that I should have my wedding in a venue I love. All of us agree this venue is absolutely gorgeous!
OF note, I am a resident physician right now, and in October my salary will increase 6 fold.
So the question is: should I go overbudget a little and have the wedding I want regardless of who comes OR should I scale back because many people might not show and I might regret going overboard.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
