My bff spent about $1k on decor, my parents paid for our alchohol, and my Father-In-Law paid for our rehearsal dinner. Plus, a group of friends and family helped us set up and tear down

When Fiance and I first began making wedding plans we were fully intending on paying for the entire wedding ourselves.  His parents are wealthy but weird so we knew they would not contribute, and my parents cannot afford to.

When I sadly told my aunt I thought we would have to move the wedding date back to save up some money, she told me not to worry, she would make sure everything was taken care of.  She is paying for so many things without me even asking her, not to mention we are having the wedding and reception at her beautiful beach home which is saving us 1000’s!!

My aunt initially even paid for my wedding dress, but a wonderful family friend who has been like a father to me insisted that she let him pay her back.  He is even offering to pay for the rehearsal dinner since he knows FI’s won’t.

I am so so so eternally grateful to my family for all they are doing.

One of my grandmas told me that she’d give me 5K when I need to pay for things – very unexpected. My other grandma asked me how much my dress was and then gave me half of the money back and also said she’d get my shoes (the other grandma also wants to get me shoes). The most unexpected thing was another 5K from my mom – she’s struggeling quite a bit and it was very generous of her. I spent a lot of time trying to give her the money back, but I realized that she’s not only doing it for me, but she’s doing it for herself, so I accepted. I hope there will be some other sum from my dad (parents are divorced) as he’s quite well of.

I also feel very blessed and loved!!! And extremely thankful for my fortunes!

I’ve been really close to my godmother all my life – she’s the closest thing to an aunt that I have (since I don’t have any!) and she generously is paying for all of our flowers. I was so touched by the gesture and Fiance and I were super surprised. Just an all around amazing offer 🙂

And of course, my parents are paying for our entire wedding & honeymoon, totaling close to $50K. That’s totally above and beyond what we ever would have dreamed of, and are so so thankful that they are giving us the wedding of our dreams 🙂

It hasn’t happened yet.  But I have discovered a small gift from beyond the grave from my parents.  Well, mainly from my father.  In PA there is a website that you can look for any unclaimed property or money. Our family was always poor growing up.  Being that my father passed away in 98′ and my mother in 06′ (I’m only 25), I have been having a hard time being upset that #1 my parents aren’t around, and #2 no assistantance with the wedding.  Well I ran my last name and found $3,100 in unclaimed funds that has my dad’s name on it. (which was shocking) Being that I am an heir, I can claim it.  It may take 2-2 1/2 months to see if I actually receive money tho.  I wanted to cry for this gift I found.
