I don’t have a square cut stone solitaire but I do have a subtle but sparkly diamond band! Channel set looks gorgeous with solitaires too which is why I recommend you try it out once you get your engagement ring.

Here’s a photo of my wedding set:

And here’s a photo of my wedding band with a stand-in solitaire ring:

sonshine9 :  Thank you!! I definitely prefer straight bands when worn alone, they have channel set like mine that are straight that you should consider! I just liked my rings sitting flush and with a 3 stone like mine, a custom contour made the most sense 🙂

I have asscher ering and also want a nice clean look (with just a little extra for when wearing band alone)

Have decided on a nice plain band with milgrain.

my ering and an example of wedding band below. The bands will sit flush with no gap

I originally had a french cut band made to go with my ring but it feels too bulky together. Today I’m wearing my contour band but wondering if I’d like a baguette and round. Its hard to find a good balance. Maybe this could work well with yours since your band is nice and straight .

butternutter :  my wedding ring is like that. 18ct white gold with a milligrain round both edges.

I have a square cut diamond halo engagement ring and I wanted something plainer for the wedding band. Like the OP I also wanted something I could wear by itself. It doesn’t sit flush with my engagement ring (which I like)

I think it is super pretty and 7 years on am very happy with my choice.

butternutter :  wedding are ridiculously expensive. We eloped and then had a traditional wedding.  Both were great though. Get the band. Its a drop in the bucket compared to all that. Just say it was extra flower cost or something Haha!
