So I am struggling a bit trying to find a wedding band I totally Love. We do have the opportunity to have a costume piece made but we have already splurged so much on the wedding that I feel selfish spending more on jewelry…I’m pretty frugal! I do love unique pieces and we are nature lovers so I really like the twig band on the bottom left ( I realize its probably not for everyone)..I am just not sure it will go with my Engagement ring. The one on the right is described as really dainty, witch I think I would like. MY Ering poses a problem because the basket is so high so most contoured bands leave a gap ( I included a picture with a plain white band so you can get an idea of how drastic it is) Do you bees think either of these band would work? My Fiance thinks the twig one is just horrible and wont go at all! I would love any suggestions too! I am running out of time to find one!

My engagement ring looks a lot like yours. My band looks close to this except all of the diamonds are the same size. It’s called a contour or chevron band.

My engagement ring for reference:

I like the twig band! Just like your ring, my e-ring sits low but I didn’t want a contoured band as I wanted the option of wearing the wedding band on its own. I’ve decided that the gap doesn’t bother me that much and I’m going to rock it! Still hunting for a band I like though. I prefer the twig band to go with your e-ring because it compliments it but still holds its own. I’m thinking the vine type band might get a little lost beside your e-ring, which By The Way is GORGEOUS!! Congrats!!

@beachbride1216: Your ring is Stunning!! I have tried several countor bands and they just leave a strange gap, I think its because of the way my basket sits extra high.

@lanibug: I am so glad someone else likes the twig band! I was starting to think I was very strange and or had terrible taste! I also want to have a band that I can wear alone, I take my Ering off often. I cant wear it at work and I never wear it at the gym or hiking..so it is important for me to have a band that can stand alone and that I love.

Honestly I really like that straight plain band you have on in the photo…

@Jlee28: I think both bands are nice, but I can see why you’ve fallen for the twig band. I really like unique rings and though it wouldn’t really work with my style or ring, I think you should get it if you love it.

@Jlee28: I say go with what you love! After all, you’re the only one who’ll be looking at the ring day in and day out. I like the shiny-ness of the twig ring next to the sparkle of your e-ring as opposed to the more matte look of vine ring…..just my opinion though. Also, FWIW, I think that “most” men (quotation marks because this is absolutely not true of
all men and I have idea what your Fiance is like), may have strong feelings about something now but after a while they just forget about it. His dislike of it may go away, but if it was me, I wouldn’t want to have doubts every time I looked down at it.

I think you should go with the twig band, it is beautiful, unique and you love it! A few things I have noticed since being married; I don’t wear my e-ring in my day to day life (like you, I take it off often). The e-ring stays cleaner and feels special when I do wear it. Also, many women I work with have multiple wedding bands they have ‘collected’ over the years of marriage. It is entirely possible you get the twig band for day to day, then for the one year anniversary, get a custome band that matches perferctly to the e-ring.

If you love it then get it that’s all that matters. My ring is so different then my ering and isn’t what I orginally what I thought I wanted but I love it because its unique and it has some stones it in that are the same color as my hubbys ring to they complient each other without being matchy matchy. Also I can wear it alone if need be. Since I plan on becoming an RN after college thats pretty important to me as well. I also love the twig ring in its uniqueness I would so rock that with pride.

@lanibug: I think your spot on about my Fiance warming up to the band and I have a feeling when he sees it in person he will like it. He choose my Ering without help and I doubt he could even decribe it/give the specs a year later

@Jlee28: I love the one on the right! I have the same problem as you. My basket setting has diamonds on the side and my husband wants me to get a contoured band so that there won’t be a gap. By the way, where did you find the dainty one on the right?! I’m on the hunt for a wedding band myself. 🙂
