I’m getting married tomorrow and have last-minute things to do so I can’t post pictures right now.  But I have a beadset diamonds along the side of my ring (similar to yours), though I didn’t need a custom band to be flush.  I was having a hard time deciding between an engraved metal-only band or a band that had diamonds and looked like the shank of my e-ring.  I decided on the metal-only engraved one.  It goes with my e-ring, but I wasn’t overjoyed.  Then my fiance surprised me with the diamond one as well.  So I’ll have 2 e-rings, but I actually prefer the look of the diamond one.

But do what you feel best.  Good luck!

ETA: The engraved one was a go-on-faith kind of thing, because the engraving was custom made.

I have a somewhat similar shape e-ring and ended up buying very affordable plain, wedding bands and had them soldered onto each side of my ring.  It’s probably not a style you might like, since your e-ring has so many diamonds, but I’ve posted just to give you an idea.  It’s the square Edwardian ring (the other two are anniversary bands I wear).  I think diamonds would look fantastic but understand your budget completely.  You can always get the plain bands and upgrade later when you have money?  or, wear your e-ring on your ring hand?  Hope this helps!  [attachment=1456521,184761]

I am pretty sure we have the same engagment ring. Here’s a picture of mine (sorry it is so big). Did you get yours at Jareds?

I went last week to look at wedding bands and thought I was dead set on getting something that sat flush, which meant I had to go the custom route. i was quoted about $1000. I tried a few curved rings and found one that I loved. The gaps are small and because the band is curved and the band on the engagement ring isn’t straight I think it matches really well. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of them on my computer but below is a link to the band.

Jareds let me borrow the ring to wear it to see if I liked it. I have been wearing it a few days and I don’t mind the small gaps at all. If you have a jareds I highly suggest going to try it on. I was so surprised to find one I loved so much without going custom.

Wow…I actually live in Stow, OH. Right next door to you!! But my user name has nothing to do with Solon, OH (Im from SOLA-south louisiana, NE-have lived in New England OH-and now live in Ohio). My ring is from Jared’s on Howe Ave. I’m going there tomorrow to purchase the ring since I am only borrowing it for the time being.

The first time I got my ring cleaned they handed it back to me and a diamond was missing. They said it was very common to lose a diamond in the microsonic cleaning machine since it vibrates the ring so much. I have the Jared plan and have the ring insured so I’m not super worried about losing one of the smaller diamonds since they will replace it. I understand your concern though since your ring gets a beating with your job.

my center stone is a cushion cut but cushion cuts tend to come in all sorts of lenght by width ratios and my seems to be cut more like a radiant.
