- Wedding: July 2016
Hello, bees. I’ve been lurking on the boards as I’ve been trying to plan my wedding (July 30th) in three months (yikes). I thought I would reach out and ask a question of my own.
My FH is pretty low-mantaince when it comes to a lot of things. One of these things is his wedding band. He had a friend of his forge it, and it totally looks AWESOME. It’s titanium, with the hammer marks and everything. It’s perfect, and the friend said he would only charge us $45. Awesome. Check. But he also convinced me to have his friend try to make my band, as well. I was not super thrilled about it to begin with. It was not very pretty, and I like pretty things. I love my engagement ring, but I’m afraid that that kind of set me up for high expectations for the wedding band, too. We had a big disucussion about it last night. He’s very adament that I get what I want. I feel very selfish in not wanting the kind of ring that his friend forged for me. I even offered to admit that this was a compromise and get over it, but Nick (FH) treats me like a princess, and princess gets what princess wants, even at the expense of others’ feelings. I feel awful about it, and I don’t really know what to do. What I want is a cheap wedding band with a little bit of sparkle. I would like to pay under $200 for it. Any suggestions? Here is my engagement ring:
