I finally made my decision on my wedding band. I am going with a plain 2mm rose gold band, the classic wedding ring from Blue Nile. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to wear it! My fiancé has agreed that he will get me the pretty pave band I wanted as an anniversary band on our 1 year! best of both worlds.
Now my next decision. I have his band engraved with a saying that’s very meaningful to us. Blue Nile can engrave my ring for an additional $25. I’m debating whether or not I want to have mine engraved with the same thing I have his engraved with. Or should I just save the $25 to put towards something else for the wedding?
Those who have their bands engraved, is it worth it even though you never see it? Thanks!

I had my first set engraved on the inside. But it was mainly for me as no one else saw it. I felt it was worth it. But when I got my second set I had no engraving done on the inside as I never take the ring off to show anyone.

My husband and I have both of ours engraved with our wedding date and lyrics to our song (also our first dance song) are split between our two rings. I think it’s very special to have something engraved, my parents have been married over 25 years and I think it’s really sweet that they still mention what they have engraved in their bands from time to time.

My rings are too thin to engrave, but if they weren’t, I would do it! I had FH’s engraved and I think it would be really sweet to have matching engravings.

My engagement ring, his wedding band and my plain band we used for the Jewish ceremony are all engraved with a phrase meaningful to us. My bling wedding band couldn’t be engraved as it had those dirt catching holes on the inside. But since I had it “reinvented” by DK and it technically could be engraved but I never got around to do it. Mostly it doesn’t bother me but sometimes I think I will have it engraved at some point because “that’s how it’s done” (where I am from you have his name and wedding date. Always). I feel that it’s tradition and somehow belongs to the wedding band.
I didn’t choose the phrase. It was my husband who came up with it when he got my engagement ring. And then when we picked our bands, he wanted us to have the same phrase in our wedding bands but no name or date. I didn’t care what was engraved and found it sweet that he put some thought into it.

I was offered free engraving on my ring and turned it down. IDK why but I just wanted a plain inside band. What is there to say on a ring that can’t be said elsewhere better? Just imo.
