I’m having a hard time picking out a wedding band to go with my engagement ring.
The ring is 1 carat total princess cut diamonds.
Most of the bands I look at, the diamonds look like they’re longer than the length of my stones (like they would be longer across my finger) or go all the way around. Would either way look goofy? I want everything to line up well. I guess I haven’t seen a good example of what to do. A lot of people with 3 stones have the smaller diamonds on the sides along the band, so the “longer” across diamonds would look better.
Also, it’s hard for me to find princess cut diamonds in a wedding band. Most I see are round. If the stones are small enough though, does it really matter if they’re a different shape? Has anyone done this?
What about curved bands? Is this only for larger stones that need more space? I would consult with a jeweler but I feel like they just want to upsell and make a sale..

@JustLove25: Thank you for the ideas. I did check ebay and there are some very fairly priced options. I’m glad I’m seeing more princess cut bands (I was looking on Jared/Kay).
Yes I’d prefer the diamonds on both bands to line up. Sorry for the screwy wording, I didn’t know how to explain it.
So DO people do a combo with a 3 stone like mine, then a wedding band with a longer line of stones so it doesn’t line up? Man I wish I went with a ring with diamonds on the sides too.. I don’t need to spend the money to have the diamonds go all the way around, but I wouldn’t mind getting it slightly off balance with the other. I’ve been looking at people’s pictures and they either line up or they have a plain band.
I guess I’ll have to try some on. I just feel bad trying stuff on when I’m going to get it online for less. I probably shouldn’t feel bad, haha.

Seriously, are you open to a plain band? I think it would be beautiful!

I wear a 7 stone band with mine, I personally like the wedding band having more finger coverage with the diamonds, but when I was trying them on the 5 stone bands lined up almost perfectly. Go try a bunch on and see which carat weight will work for you, I’m guessing maybe a .5 ctw 5 stone band will fit nicely with yours.

@emstar168: That’s nice!
As for the curved band..necessary or no?
I think I will take a trip to a jeweler soon and see what works best. Obvious, I know, but I’m used to figuring out stuff at home and ordering online

@AP1976: Thanks for showing me your rings. It’s nice to see an example of stones that aren’t aligned and it looks good.
