My engagement ring is exactly what I wanted…cushion cut halo with pave diamonds. But I’m starting to get a little worried that I won’t be able to find a wedding band that a) Fits next to the ring b) Doesn’t take away from it.
If you have a halo engagement ring and have chosen your wedding band, I’d love to see pics for inspiration!!!

A lot of times with that style, you see wedding bands that cup the halo instead of fitting with it. I personally don’t like the look of that, but I was set on a halo. I thought I wouldn’t be able to find something I liked as a set, but I stumbled upon my beauties and I was so excited. The wedding band matches the band of the e-ring but it has a tiny groove in it and it’s low so that it fits in underneath the halo. You can see the groove in this picture, normally you can’t though

I have a halo ring with an emerald cut center stone. I couldn’t find a band that fit exactly how I wanted so I am currently having something custom made to fit it perfectly. I would recommend going the custom route because then you get exactly what you want 🙂

Here’s mine! At first I tried on a whole bunch of straight-across bands that were really skinny and matched the band of my e-ring pretty much exactly, because that’s what I thought I wanted. But for my particular e-ring, it just wasn’t working. I’m not exactly sure what it was that I didn’t like. Maybe the proportions? It definitely did make my center stone and halo appear smaller, and it’s already small. So that was part of it. So then I tried on a single curved band, and I fell in absolute love. Then the idea dawned on me to put one on either side of the e-ring, and I loved that even more! It definitely adds a lot of bling, and in doing so, you could argue that takes away from the e-ring a bit, which I know you specifically said you don’t want. But in any case, here’s what mine looks like with both bands…

Forgive the horrible copy/paste job, but this is my e-ring and the soon-to-be matching band, only it will be made in rose gold.

@lovemikey…I was thinking of doing that for mine but never saw a good picture. Thank you!! I have stored it in my mind for when it is time to start looking.

@FallBride23: you could always have the e-ring modified so the center part is raised up higher. that way, practically any wedding band could fit “under” the center stone, and you would not need to get a ring with a notch in it.
it would cost waaay less than having a custom wedding band made.

@soyjoy222: Yay, you’re welcome! 😀 It’s pretty obvious my e-ring was a whole lot less shiny (read: dirty!) than the bands when I took that photo, but after the e-ring was cleaned, the three of them together sparkled like crazy. I really love the combo.

Here’s my halo-set cushion with my wedding band:

My two wedding bands with oval halo like setting. I had the bands custom made so they would sit next to the ring rather than have a gap.
