Hey bees! I’ve started the hunt for a wedding band. I know it’s best to stay away from mall stores like Zales when it comes to engagement rings, but what about wedding bands? I’ve found one band at Zales that I actually really like with my ring. I wasn’t completely set on getting a band with stones at all for my wedding band, but this one has just the right amount of bling to go with my e-ring without taking anything away from it.
For reference, this is my e-ring:
Where else should I be looking? Are the reasons for avoiding Zales and other such stores for e-rings the same for wedding bands? I really don’t feel like they’re majorly upcharging on a ring like this (regular $339, on sale for $237 right now) like they do for e-rings.
Also, would I mess up the integrity of this ring by trying to size it down to a 4?
Any and all thoughts welcome, including links to similar rings elsewhere!

I got my band from Zales and I love it! I haven’t had any problems with it wearing it daily for over a year now.

Looks like a good match! Just check their repair policy, if you happen to lose a stone will they replace it for free? If they do or even for a small fee then I say go for it

The band is less of a risk for sure, you’d be unlikely to get GIA certs for a thin band no matter who you buy from so the ‘critical’ quality of the center stone isn’t as relevant here. If you wanted .15 carat stones or larger in your band then you might try to stay away from mall chains. Worst case scenario, if you lost a stone they’re small, so the repair will be more acceptable in cost than if you lost your e-ring stone. $2-300 actually sounds like a pretty decent deal to me.

I got my e-ring and band from Kay’s. I don’t see a problem with it! If any of my diamonds come out and I lose it, they replace it for free. (I’m a nurse so that sold me) I don’t know if Zales has the same guarantee though.
