Hello! I’m a bit new here. I need some help, please. I’m not yet engaged, but I’ve been lucky enough to pick out my engagement ring. π I absolutely love it! It’s gorgeous and vintage. It’s like it was made for me. The only problem is that it’s flat against my finger. I think this will make it very difficult to find a wedding band to go with it. It’s a Fred Leighton, halo, with a rose-cut diamond. I’m very petite. 5’1″, 100 lbs, meaning I want a dainty wedding band to fit myself and my dainty ring. Can anyone help me? Ideas and pictures are appreciated! Thank you all! π
I hope the pictures aren’t too big!

If you want to go the commercial route it would appear that your only options would be a curved band or a straight band with a gap.
If you want something to fit perfectly you might need to look into a custom band with the ring being so flat against your skin.

@Treejewel19:
Ohhhhh! A band with a gap! I’ve never thought about that! That’s genius! Thank you for the idea! I’ll have to look into that.

Something like this might be pretty … obviously it would need to be more rounded to fit the shape of your halo! π

My ring is also a halo & also flat against my finger. The band I got is very thin and flat, so it can be pushed under the halo. You could get is soldered on to stay pushed under the halo, you could also get something made where the part of the band that goes under the halo part of your ring be plain & flat, then have diamonds or whatever stone you would like going around the rest of the ring!
I took some pics to show you how I can push mine under the halo part of my ring. It wont stay that way right now completely flush because it is (literally) like 5 sizes to big, it fits my THUMB! (The wedding band.) So I have to get it sized soon! haha

BUT I would like to say if you do push it under the halo you should probably solder it so it doesn’t rub the ring.

@theredhead: That’s an interesting idea too! I haven’t seen anything like that. Thank you!

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: Thank you very much for the pictures! Lovely ring π I’ll have to try on some tiny bands. Maybe I can get away with a very thin band pushed up under my ring like that. Thanks!

@Lace0000: Thanks as is yours!! What is the center stone, if you don’t mind me asking? Its beautiful!
Yea, my band is very thin 1.7mm & is completely flat. So it goes under it pretty easily, although I am not wearing it that way right now because I don’t want it to rub the ring. So right now it has a gap & that does not bother me at all!

the side view of your ring looks like you have a little bit of clearance right where the halo meets the shank…i don’t see why you can’t get a flat-ish band to push under it if you don’t want a gap.

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: Oh whoops! Looks like I’ve forgotten about this. Sorry! My center stone is a rose- cut diamond. And yours? I’m ashamed that I ended up with a diamond. I wanted a moissanite ecause of the whole “blood diamond” thing. Because rose cuts are so rare these days (apparently very few companies have patents on that cut) I was forced to buy diamond to get exactly what I wanted… I love my ring but I’m little ashamed…

i LOVE your ring. i want a ring that sits flatter to the hand because i’m so scared that i’m gonna hook my ring on something and destroy either the ring or what ever it is i’m getting it caught on.

@cardus: Yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking. It looks like a very slim band, maybe 1.5, 2mm would fit. And that would work perfectly given the dainty look OP is going for.
