My wedding band came in! It was a whopping $42 from Etsy. I was having a heck of a time finding a metalsmith/jeweler on Etsy who had quarter sizes AND had a 2.5mm band that wasn’t ridiculously overpriced… then I happend upon this beauty:
Sorry for the poor quality photo, I’m on a Chromebook and still figuring it out.
It’s argentium silver. It has high resistence to tarnishing and it’s harder than sterling. If I look at my rings with my palm up it is so much more “white” than my white gold engagement ring. I probably need to have my engagement ring dipped but that’s a “later” thing.
Couldn’t be happier! Any other bees have alternative metal bands?

Beautiful! My band is platinum…not sure if that’s considered an alternative metal..probably not, but I wanted to comment on how pretty your rings are!

It’s very nice! I love the soft colour of silver.
I have a stand-in band which is cobalt chrome. I don’t LOVE how it looks, it’s a little more gray than my research seemed to indicate, but it sure is durable! I use it for harsh activities and sports.
It is 4mm, and was $20 on amazon.

Hey ring twinsie! I love the band you picked! I’ve been having a hard time deciding what band(s) I want to get. Literally just yesterday the thought popped in my head that maybe I should get a plain metal band for some contrast. I’m glad I saw this post, your band looks great. Our rings are so blingy, that I’m worried more diamonds might be too much. (Can’t believe I just said that.) I tried on the matching band, but don’t love it. Also a different style of diamond bands for both sides. But I’m still unsure and don’t want the bands to distract from the e-ring. Do you have more pics of your band with your e-ring?

I don’t at the moment, BUT! When I get home from work I’ll take more and either post them here or message them to you. I get home around 3-3:30 CST.
I tried on many different size plain bands, and in my personal opinion the 2.5mm looked best. 3mm was a little thick for my taste, and the 2mm was just so small you could barely see it.

Thank you for posting this; I was looking at argentium silver a few weeks ago, but didn’t get any responses from people who have rings made from it, so would be really interested to know how you get on with it. It seems like a really good choice, and the prices are so good, too.
Also, lovely rings BTW! I think the plain band works really well with your engagement ring 🙂
