I was wondering if anyone might be willing to help me decide whether to get a traditional wedding band or a solitaire enhancer as my wedding ring?
Here is a photo of my ring – A 1ct. Round Solitaire on a Tapered White Gold Band (The band is slightly skinnier near the diamond)
I’m conflicted, because I like the idea of a traditional band, but I also love the symmetry of a solitaire!

Can you show us some options that you’re looking at?

So sorry! I’m new here, lol — Anyhow, I like the enhancer here because there is a small diamond on the front and on the back of my ring (in front of and behind the stone) which can still be seen with the enhancer. With the band, my understanding is that I should get something I can wear alone, so I don’t think a contoured band would be an option because at that point why not get the enhancer?? They’d both look silly on their own!
A similar ring in this enhancer can be seen here:
HELP! Contour wedding band or guard/wrap with e-ring?

OP: Have you tried a solitaire enhancer? It appears that although your ring tapers toward the diamond, it may be a cathedral setting, which will probably not fit into an enhancer. I’ve looked at them before, and neither my cathedral setting nor my euro-shank will allow for an enhancer. Besides that, I prefer to have two rings on my finger that look like two rings. But that’s just me; to each his own, as my wise momma used to say… 🙂

you could do so many things with that ring in regards to bands! I would def. go with a band.

I like 2 bands. I have tried enhancers for my soliatire and it just looks like one ring and I didn’t like the idea of changing the entire look of the ring since my Fiance picked the ring for me to begin with.

first of all I LOOOOVE your ring ! I think it would look great with a band, but thats my personal taste 🙂 Have you tried any on yet ?

We are shopping right now (YAY!) and I tried on a gorgeous ring that actually came with two bands, to be worn one above and one beneath the e-ring, or together without the e-ring for travelling and such. This would give you the symettry you’re looking for…and if you want a small upgrade later, with an eternity band you could always get extra bling with halo head for your solitaire. They aren’t too expensive.

@FutureMrsGreene: you’re diamond is a good size, so i don’t think you need to jazz it up with an enhancer

Thank you SO much for your input — I found a band that I love this past weekend, so we’re good to go 🙂

@MrsCanuck – Sadly, the store wouldn’t let me take a picture, and I needed to have it sized so I couldn’t take it home with me from the store 🙁 But, here’s the link! I’ll post a picture when my fiance picks it up!!
