First, a gratuitous shot of my engagement ring:
Now, I don’t have a shot of the side aspects of my ring, but basically there are smaller diamonds on either aspect (sides of the halo, sides of the band and a small diamond underneath the halo itself). The shape of the band itself with the side diamonds make it impossible to find a band that matches!
A little backstory: I’m a nurse, I will not be wearing my wedding set on a daily basis because I don’t like wearing the huge ring at work. I will however have a plain band that I’ll wear on a daily basis.
My questions … Is it worth it to get a custom made band? Have other bees gone wedding bandless because of their hard to match rings?

In your situation I would wear the plain band for work, shopping etc., and the engagement ring alone when going out.
To me (on the other side of the world from you admittedly) it seems to be getting more common for married women to wear their engagement ring alone.

can you get a plain wedding band that matches enough with your e-ring if you ever did want to wear them together, but then can be worn alone for work? It might have a gap but it could work

Since you won’t be wearing in on a daily basis, I would probably skip the custom band. This way you’ll have a plain band and an engagement ring. They’ll both be independent and special.

If you go back to the site where the ring was purchased, they usually have a band that will go with your ring. I know several people who have similar styles and their bands were not custom made. However, the need for a band is up you. Good luck and Happy shopping.
