I always heard the wedding band is supposed to be closest to your heart, so it’s worn on the inside.

@deliciousappleblue: I have the same understanding.  You’re supposed to have your wedding band on your finger first, then your engagement ring on the outside.  But if you want to do it the other way, there’s nothing saying you can’t!  I say do what you’re more comfortable with.

I think you can do it however you want.  Traditionally the wedding band goes on the inside, but I’ve seen people do it the other way and I don’t think it makes a difference

My mom said the “closest to your heart” thing. So I assume that’s the traditional way. But I say you do whatever you like and whatever is comfortable. Everyone always thought I was left-handed cause I would wear my watch on the “wrong wrist”… haha ok whatever. I like the traditional way simply because the engagement ring is easier to grab (ie. diamond) in case I need to adjust it. (WHich I’m always doing). To me it would take more time to adjust both rings if my band was on the outside. But it’s all preference I think.

I put my wedding band on first, but whatever you like works just fine.

I personally think I’ll wear mine on the outside. I know you’re supposed to wear it on the inside, but personally I like it on the outside better.

I have researched this some and while most people put it on the inside of their engagement ring it can go on top of your engagement ring because that is the chronological order in which you recieve them. There really isn’t a right or wrong way so if you like it on top of your ering then wear it that way! 🙂

make the decision easy and get 2 wedding bands. This is what I am doing. I like the look of identical bands on each side. They will all be melted together to make it 1 unified ring after the wedding. My fiance and I loved a ring which had 3 bands but we wanted to be able to say this is the engagement rings. these are the wedding bands, so we had my ring custom made. 🙂 the jewler made a replica to the inside band with a 1.3 carat diamond , in white gold, and 2 yellow gold bands with diamonds in them will be added afterwards.. Im so excited. Its exactly what I wanted.

My best friend wears hers on the outside! I think it looks really good that way.

I think I will probably be more traditional and wear mine on the inside though. But I would like to get an anniversary band for the top at our 1-year.
