Wedding band came in yesterday and it is not what we asked for. We had asked for the same band as my e ring, which is 1.5mm. So we get the wedding band and it is obviously not the same size haha, it is about 3 mm (based on a ruler, so not super accurate). At first I was disappointed, but now it is starting to grow on me. I do like the look of a slightly thicker wedding band, but I think twice as thick might be too much. We are able to get the ring remade if we want to, and I think I would ask for maybe 2.25mm.
What do yo guys think? Too thick or keep it as is? Feel free to post any pics of your similar e-ring and wedding band, either thicker or the same size so I can see!! Thanks!

I actually think that looks perfect! I prefer when the band and e-ring are differentiated, and the larger diamonds on the band look great to me.

I don’t have any pics, but I actually love the look of a thicker band as well. It’s getting to be super trendy now and I think it looks lovely. I intend to have a band that’s a bit thicker than my e-ring.

I was under the impression that traditionally the wedding band is supposed to be thicker. My band matches my engagement ring and it’s thicker. e-ring is 2.4mm, band is 2.6mm. I like the look.

Thanks everyone! My other concern is that the diamonds on the wedding band are so much bigger than the ones on the e-ring, so I’m afraid it will make it look dull. Have any of you guys found that to be true, or is it not even noticeable?

raviolimrs : for me it is not a problem. All I see is more bling and sparkle, which I like! Married for about 10 days now 🙂

raviolimrs : your wedding set is stunning. I like the fact that my wedding band is larger than my e-ring. I like to wear my wedding band alone occassionaly.

This happened to me, at first I was like yay more bigger diamonds, then the more I wore them together the more it bugged me. The circumrance of the two sizes bugged me the most. Then one of the diamonds fell out of the band and I was actually relieved. I returned that ring and have since picked out something that matches perfectly. It’s still on order and needs to be sized, I’m so excited and can’t wait to get it from the jewellers!

Hey! I love the look of the thicker band! My e-ring that is being made is actually 1.9mm and the band I’m looking at is about 3.5mm! I’ve tried on the combination in the shop and it looks stunning. Surprisingly, it doesn’t take away from the bling but adds to it! You could even get a plain rose gold spacer to wear in between them to make it a pretty stack! It’s beautiful.

I love your set as is! If it were me, I wouldn’t change a thing. My ring is a similar style and my band is also larger. See photos below. I also included a photo of a third ring that I sometimes stack with.

Your ring looks awesome! I may be biased because mine is similar.. my e-ring is 2mm and wedding ring is 3mm 🙂
