I apologize for this being a novel in advance!
First of all I should state that I absolutely love love love my engagement ring and my wedding band. My engagement ring (you can either stalk me and check out a picture I’ve posted or just check out this link, http://www.peoplesjewellers.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4369407' defer='defer mine is a blue sapphire ) sits a little funny against my finger- it makes it difficult to find a band that FIT properly against it (which is what I wanted). After searching and saving up for quite a while, Fiance and I stumbled upon this beauty: http://www.peoplesjewellers.com/product/index.jsp?productId=17831736' defer='defer. I don’t have a picture of the two of them together, but they look awesome together!
We ended up buying the enhancer from the same sales associate that sold my engagement ring to Fiance. We explained in detail what we wanted to do, and ended up purchasing the lifetime warranty on both rings. The sales lady let us know that sizing it to fit properly in the ring would be covered under the warranty and we would have nothing to worry about. Fast forward to three weeks ago, I send both my rings away to be sized so that the engagement ring fits inside the enhancer. I receive a call Friday night stating that I’ll need to get a shank added to make my engagement ring fit properly inside the enhancer, which will run us about $150.00 plus tax. I explain to the sales associate that we were assured that it wouldn’t cost any extra, and that we bought BOTH rings from this same location and the same person and they didn’t mention anything like that. She pretty much told me that if I wanted it to work, this is what I’ll have to do- end of story. I agree to the cost. Uuuuuurgggg.
Not that $150 is the end of the world, it’s just sooo frustrating that we discussed what we wanted to do and the sales associate said it would be fine, no problem, and then apparently just wasn’t knowledgeable enough to even have offered that information!
I was upset so I called the customer service line and started a complaint. I know that I’ll end up paying the $150 if push comes to shove, I just REALLY don’t want to. Also (just cause I’m feeling whiny) my rings won’t be in for another 4 ish weeks, so I’ll be THAt much longer without my engagement ring.
TLDR: Sales associate said my ring would be sized without any issue, turns out she had no idea what she was talking about and now I need to pay to get it so it fits properly. Booooo.
