I’m pretty clueless. I have a six-prong solitaire in platinum for my Engagement Ring. The band is just plain and rather thin. For my wedding band I want something with diamonds around the front part – but there seems to be two different kinds. The kind with the metal showing around the diamonds, like a rim or border, and the kind where all you see are the diamonds and no metal showing. Which kind goes with my ring and how do people feel about the differences???

You have so many options with a solitare. Shared prong, channel set, pave!!! Oh the possibilities.
I would start looking at a site like blue nile to learn about the different kind of bands. They have a lot of choice. When you see some things like you like go into the store with your Fiance.

*Ms Caniche* is right – I think you should educate yourself on all the different types of settings before you make any decisions. Better yet, you should go to a jewelry store and try them on next to your Engagement Ring. You will probably know immediately what type of setting you prefer!
