My wedding band is 18k white gold with 1/3rd carat of diamonds in it and was still only £650! I don’t know what the exchange rate is like but that seems ridiculous

Seems a bit high, if you like the person your working with I would think about asking for a detailed breakdown of why it’s so costly. Then work to see you can get him down to a better price.

Also why and get other quotes before you see him for the thing and then try the old flattering . ” so we got quote and several others, out of them yours is on the most expensive side, is there anything we can do to get a better price as we came back to you because of your work and our pervious experience with you”????!!!.

IDK what’s reasonable for you. I bought dh his band a few months ago. It’s 10k yellow gold 8mm wide size 13 with milgrain edges and cost $220 with shipping off eBay.  Yes it appears to be really,  we even had it engraved locally.

My band isn’t so plain.  It’s 14k yellow gold 3mm band with 5 3.5mm round moissanites set into it and it has milgrain edges too. It cost $300 to get it made by a local jeweler.
