Wedding bands vs. eternity band?

What I like about the classic wedding band is it will never need to go in for repair so I can always wear it. I don’t have to take it off for anything and I don’t need to worry about diamonds falling out.

Ultimately it’s a personal choice though. More bling would be nice but I prefer it to be more practical.

I kinda compromised, and got a band with 7 small stones channel set into it.  I got the little sparkle I wanted but the parts in contact with my finger are smooth, and it sits right against my e-ring very well 🙂

I will be getting a plain band because I want to be able to wear it all the time and not worry about stones falling out. Eternity or half eternity bands are beautiful, but I like the symbolism of a nice solid strong wedding band.

I also got a band that has 7 stones halfway through the band so my fingers are in contact with the band and not the stones. It’s very comfortable and it sits flush with my ering.

Eternity bands are stunning – but you answered your own question … go and try them on.  It has a lot to do with the way the diamonds are set and how large the diamonds are.

I opted for a 5 stone wedding band where the stones are .40 each, which would have to have been set in a channel setting to be comfortable as an eternity band and I do not care for channel settings.

jp2017 :  I wear my channel set eternity band 100% of the time, and it’s super comfortable. I usually wear it on its own without my engagement ring. My engagement ring cuts through all of my gloves at work.

I love that it’s beautiful and blingy but no prongs make it safe and comfortable. I used to think I’d hate channel bands because the metal on the sides can be distracting, but I found one that has such slim metal on the side and I ended up falling in love with it for its looks and practicality!

I got both! One plain band and one prong set eternity band. I agree with those saying to go and try them on. You should also try ordering one – for instance, from Berricle- and see how it feels for you. I thought I might not be comfortable wearing my eternity band on a daily basis, but I hardly notice it anymore. It did take a while to adjust and there are certain situations where I become aware of it and the sensations of having it on my finger, but never so much that I feel the need to take it off or stop wearing it every day.

Get both! Lol

I have a plain 2mm wedding band and a half eternity and I switch them all around with along with my Ering!

As for being uncomfortable, I guess it depends on how flush/high the stones are set! Mine are pretty low set so I don’t feel them at all

I have a 3.5-4mm micro pave eternity band and I don’t think it is uncomfortable at all. I think it depends on what your comfort level is. If you wear rings a lot it probably won’t bother you. Plus the stones should not be falling out. All of my rings have diamonds set in a micro pave setting and I have never had one fall out.
