Here’s a comprehensive list: http://wiki.weddingbee.com/Abbreviations

Welcome to WB!

Hey, hostesses/mods, think we could make a sticky at the top of the boards for this topic?

ETA: Ha, we were all typing at the same time, lol!

I was .what it meant when people tage someone’s name and then type “THIS.”  Cans someone tell me what that means too?  It isn’t on the list

@RahlyRah: Basically, it means that they’re saying, “Hey, I agree with everything you just said, word for word.” It’s like saying ditto.

@Wonderwoman217: Good idea for the sticky.  I won’t sticky it up on the main boards but I’ll sticky it to the WB board for a little while.

@RahlyRah: Yeah a few of the hostesses, including myself, had no idea what ‘THIS’ meant either. I was like, WTH does ‘This’ mean?  This what? Yeah, I had to google it.  Oh, man, I’m getting old! That and ‘smh’  or ‘Shake my head’ is a new one. http://www.urbandictionary.com/ is my friend for new internet lingo! lol

ETA: I admit that I refuse to use ‘This’. It’s too confusing.  What’s wrong with just saying ‘I agree’. Writing ‘this’ still confuses some people and what saves me from writing 2 whole letters. Yeah, ‘I agree’ makes 100% sense and you can be any age to understand it.  haha

Hahaha guess I’ll stop using “this” … didn’t realize it would be confusing :/ Just thought it was a fun/sassy way to say “I agree.”

I see the previous poster is really irked by “this”, which is pretty much how I feel about all of the acronyms in general. I feel like using them seems lazy and is very confusing to new members…then again, I’m old-fashioned that way. But hey, if you can’t beat it, join it.
