Okay gals, like many brides to be I had some serious excercizing routines lined up and in place. Then I broke my foot. I’m in a boot and have been for five weeks. Next check is the 20th and I’m doubtful it’ll be better. Surgery might be scheduled for this summer. On top of the broken foot, last Thursday I had a stage 3 precancerous growth removed. So I’m even more laid up!!
Im assuming ill be back on my feet by end of summer (and in my elliptical again). But until then, diet suggestions????
doing hand weights to work on arms ans back for now!
thanks for your advice and ideas!

@Moosemaybite: Diet suggestions – what worked for me was trying not to eat heavy starches / carbs after 5pm or so. Also I cut out all sugary drinks, and went with water and tea as my drinks of choice. Happy recovery, hope you are back to normal soon!

Most weight loss is really based on your diet. NO white carbs, including bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, etc. If you must have a carb, low glycemic slow digesting carbs like brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc are best because they do not spike your blood sugar. But I would try to cut out most starchy carbs altogether and get your carbohydrates from mainly vegetables and some fruit. Be careful of watermelon and bananas, they contain the highest sugar content of fruit. Remember, the sugar from fruit is better than refined sugar, but its still sugar which is why diabetics have to limit their intake, so I would limit fruit to once a day, maybe in a smoothie or as a snack, like an apple or berries. Try eating 6 small meals a day, mainly proteins and veggies, some fruit. I lost 50 lbs a few years ago by just eating healthier. Hope this helps! 🙂

I eat lots of fruits and veggies, and raw nuts for snacks in between meals. I recently became a mostly vegetarian. I eat all meat on rare occasions, and I have fish sometimes. Weight has littleral been falling off me for the past 6 months. I exercise and am conscious of my diet, but my main thing has been cutting down on meat. I also never ate white carbs, so I still only eat whole grain carbs.
Happy recovery! You are smart to be doing hand weights! Back exercises are soo good too!
