Hi Bees. I am in the first stages of the planning process of my wedding. I am just collecting ideas really. I feel like I have made so much progress. I have picked my invites, wedding dress (ok that’s still iffy), shoes, theme, and colors. I know my venue, and have decided on a Wedding Brunch reception. I have also decided to go fully DIY, honestly, mainly for economic reasons.
While I was thinking of how I will set up the venue, I realized that I have no idea what we will do after the ceremony and brunch. I am really quite terrible at planning events, and have never been to an intimate wedding before. I am absolutely stumped.
What does one do at a wedding brunch?

I’m guessing there won’t be dancing?
What does your timeline look like so far?

@GroovyHippieChick: I am thinking 10:30a-1:30. The venus is free (at my church), and available for as long as I want it. The guest list is short (maybe 20 people, if that, including children). It will consist of my closest family and best friend’s.
You see, we have had a long distance relationship for 3 years now. He is moving to my town a mere month before the wedding. My family has never met him (though I have spent a lot of time with his). His family lives across the country, and due to the short notice, will probably not be able to make it.
I know this all sounds really weird, but we just decided to go ahead and do what we’ve both been wanting for so long, but couldn’t do because of one thing or another. We decided to stop letting things get in the way, and just do it! I feel so blessed and overjoyed!
But I digress… To answer your question, no there won’t be dancing. It is such a small group that I think it would just be weird. Also, no alcohol, as we are LDS.
