I wanted to thank everyone on the site. All the input, and suggestions really helped me in preparing our wedding this past June.
So I want to pay this forward, and give you updates on what I have done, in hope that this post can help any of you in preparing your upcoming wedding!
For you who are going to have your wedding at a catholic church, please message me your email address, and I would be more than happy to forward you the template for the mass.
I know wedding can be extremely expensive especially in the east coast. So let me know if there is anything I can help, and suggest for vendors in the NY/NJ area. I have found amazing vendors for my wedding with low budget and great results! So let me know if you need their info.
A big shout out for our photographers! OB Solinsky. I tell you. They did such amazing work. It’s ridiculous!
So here’s what I have done for 80 guests wedding in June, in New York.
Venue: Douglaston Manor, Douglaston, NY (Queens)
This location is a club house for a beautiful public golf course.
Wedding rings (for both) $ 1200
Bridal gown $ 800
Veil/flower piece $ 62
Shoes $ 66 (purchase a solid white shoes, and decorate on my own)
Jewelry $ 50 (Betsey Johnson collection on sale)
Groom’s tux & acces $ 638
Maid of honor dress and best man’s rental tux $ 315
Table centerpieces excluding flower (for 9 tables) $ 194 – made everything myself.
Lighting $ 180
Misc $ 55
Maitre’d and bridal attendant tips $ 500 (apparently this is required. 🙁 )
Free wedding organizer (tip) $ 100– I got lucky on this one. She helped putting together original plan and design ideas, she has a new start up business and I love all of her ideas. Won’t be as calm as I was without her.
Welcome bags (25 bags) $ 100
2 Bouquets and 2 bottonieres $ 70 (MIL and SIL used to work in flower business- so they just made it for free)
Flowers for centerpieces (9 tables) $ 955
DJ $ 1100 (for 5 hours) , 1 hr outdoor cocktail hours + 4 hrs indoor for reception
2 photographers $ 1620 (for 9 hours)
Food for 80 ppl $ 6968
($87.10 /plate tips, tax included; this includes full carving station cocktail hours, full open bar, dessert table and espresso table)
Invitations $ 395 (150 pices)
Guest book $ 50
2 buses from hotel-reception-hotel for 80 ppl $ 1760 (church and reception are about 1 hr trip. 20 miles away. so this was the best money spent)
Church $ 1600
Hair and makeup $ 300 (in house, they come to me)
TOTAL Expenses $ 19,078
