whats everyone set for their wedding budgets? are you going over or under? are things going as planned?
My budget was originally set at $2000, although has changed a few different times now. Keep going over budget. now set at $4000. This budget seems much more realistic and I am going to have a beautiful wedding on my small budget with about 70-75 guests.
DIY for everything possible 🙂 how’s everyone else going?

I want to stay around 4,000 as well but am worried I won’t be able to do it! My dress and venue are going to take up 3,000 of that by itself. I’d really love to have music but don’t know if that will be possible. Luckily my fiance is a chef so we’re not going to spend too much on the food.

We are right on budget. I have kept meticculous tabs and gotten lots of stuff on clearance and craigslist. I am hoping to keep it under 20K and thats for 250 ppl.

We have stuck to our budget, we may even come in slightly under. We are having 300 guests and our budget is $20k. PS we are date twins!!! We didn’t set our budget until things were priced out. Once we set our venue we were able to set on. It also helped knowing what our parents were contributing. Good luck!

We went waaaay over our original budget. By about 40%. We just didn’t realize how much the things we wanted would cost so much. We picked vendors we liked at prices we were comfortable with. So in the end being over budget sucks, but we weren’t willing to make compromises.

@yellowshoe: We are doing the same. We are really pricing around, but I initially had NO clue what a wedding would cost. So, yes, our budget has doubled.

Just for the actual wedding day and stuff related to it (not lodging for the weekend or Friday night pizza party), we are under $6000 for Jackson Hole and 50 poeple which is pretty dang good in the land of cha-ching.
I kind of guessed what flowers would cost and my DIY projects so since they haven’t actually come to life yet, I could be way off!

- Wedding: September 2011 - Clark Gardens
Our original budget was $15 and we wound up spending around $27k. WAY over budget.

We have set ours at 15000..which is going to be tough since for us it’s a destination wedding..and on top of that..we only have a little over half saved up…*sigh*
and it doesn’t help that I have champagne taste on a beer budget!

$6,500 for 150 people and we are right on schedule! Almost everything that isn’t venue/food/drink is about $2,000 and almost all DIY… so I knew what the costs would be before we started and they didn’t change because we had our hearts set on a certain vendor… since there isn’t a vendor 🙂

Our budget is about 13k for a 100 person wedding. We’re going slightly over it, but not by much.

25000 which is average but very classy

our budget is $42,000—I tried to find an affordable venue in our area (Baltimore), but everywhere was charging upwards of over $100 a head for reception!

Haha umm zero. That’s my budget, and I just keep fighting to get as close to that as possible 😉
I’m actually too early in the planning stages to have enough information to set a reasonable budget. We haven’t figured out how many guests etc. But we’re aiming towards a no frills wedding with no dinner and cash bar and extreme DIY so that the number of guests isn’t actually important (he has a huge, close family). So far seems like ~$2500 for ~150ish people, excluding photographer which I want to splurge on.

Our budget is around 20 000 .. But I have been doing a pretty good job with finding deals, so I will be surprised if we even use half of that, that way there we will be able to put a nice down payment on our house!
