- Wedding: May 2011
Our wedding venue had a room for us to hide in pre-ceremony. At this point I had no game plan for what shoes I was going to wear to walk down the aisle. I had my heels or a pair of wedge flip flops that weren’t quite tall enough. The venue coordinator’s asst told me to go barefoot and hold my dress up with the same hand that was holding my bouquet. She was a lifesaver. We also stuck some scrapbooking rhinestones on my BM’s feet as they were going barefoot. I totally stole this idea from my cousin’s wedding.
When we started down the aisle I was joking around with my dad. He kept stepping on my dress so he had to kinda stand apart from me. Then we turned the corner and I started bawling. It was just so overwhelming.
Our guitarist Daniel was the greatest investment ever
I couldn’t see my DH really well while I was walking down the aisle because of the sun. But when I got to the arch I saw that he had been crying too (thus making me cry some more)
So now I’m going into picture overload. These are a mix of guest and prof pics. My godfather officiated and it was perfect. I hadn’t given much thought about our ceremony until a few weeks before the wedding and it turned out so special.
Whoever set up our sand ceremony put DH’s vase on my side and my vase backwards on his side. I did a quick switch when I got to the table.
I thought it was hilarious I spilled some sand during our sand ceremony (bad sign?)
I have no idea what I’m doing in this picture, I was THAT happy to be married
Then our beautiful bridal party walked out and we all had some champagne. (Bonus, we were married by one of the resort’s restaurant and we got quite a few cheers)
Next up, some pics on the beach and one awesome cocktail hour!
