We decided to go with cupcakes.  I couldn’t decide on just one or two flavors!  We will have a variety of flavors, so unless someone actually dislikes cake in general, there should be something for everyone 🙂

We are having a cake at the top to keep the cake cutting tradition we want and the remaining tiers cupcakes. The cake at the top will be cheesecake and the cupcakes will be assorted flavors we haven’t picked out yet.

We have three small cakes from a friendor, four dozen cake pops from a friendor, and there’s a pretty well known bakery in the town where our venue is so we’re getting donuts and chocolate chip cookies and chocolate covered strawberries to make a dessert table. I personally don’t care for wedding cake, and I know a lot of people who would prefer to grab another kind of treat so I wanted to do a variety. I’m also setting up a trail mix bar for after dinner.

We did individual size pies. There was one larger one for us to put a topper on and to cut, plus assorted flavors of 4″ pies. They were a big hit!

Inspiration photos are here: http://floridianweddings.com/2011/11/reception-menu-ideas-pie/. We did a round tower like the photo on the left, with little flags with the flavors on them like the photo on the right.

I’m having about a dozen family and friends make homemade desserts of all kinds. Some have specific desserts that I’m requesting and some I’m just letting them make whatever they want. And each one will have a little sign with the dessert and the name of the person who made it and how they know me and my fiance.

When I was looking through our cake decoraters book I saw a picture of a “cake” made out of rice krispie treats!  I thought that was pretty cool and yummy!

I saw a picture that unfortunately I can’t post right now as I’m at work, of a rice krispie treat wedding cake.  It looked awesome!

OMG those fruit tarts look amazing!!

I know someone who is doing brownies! I am so jealous I love brownies but no one else likes them as much as me so they are out.

We are doing wedding cake in a few flavours and pecan butter tarts with cinnamon icecream.
