    I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those options. Cake is good! However, white cake is probably the most traditional, so I’d favor that one as long as it’s tasty!

    shalomx7: In your case, I would do the following:

    If I can have 2 flavors, I would choose one chocolate and one white.

    If I can only have 1 flavor, I would choose a marble cake so you cover both white & chocolate.

    I would not pick angel cake. From my experience, somehow that cake tends to be dry.

    White cake for sure! Can’t go wrong with any of them, but I vote for a traditional white cake although I may be biased as white cake is my favorite 🙂

    I don’t like any of those for a wedding. White is too plain, chocoalte is too childish, angel food cake doesn’t appeal to the mass audience (IMO) and marble feels very grocery store, lol.

    I think red velvet or vanilla (unless that’s what you mean by white?) would be best, but that’s just moi.

    I’d go with any of those except Angel Food…since that’s a fatless sponge cake, it just doesn’t hold it’s own as well for that kind of cake.  I’m allllll about the marble because you get the best of both worlds (and all of my favorite wedding cakes have been marbled, lol).  But if you want, don’t be afraid to think outside the box!  We did one lemon cake with lemon curd filling, one marbled layer with cream cheese filling, one chocolate layer with chocolate ganache, and one chocolate layer with salted caramel buttercream.  Not too out there, but a bit of a spin on your traditional.  So have fun, and most of all, make sure you and your groom love it!

    Beegritte:  Not true. Both Fiance and I don’t like chocolate cake.We know how much others seem to like it though so one of our flavors is going to be a chocolate fudge. 

    I voted for white cake, because I like that best. But I think if you’re going for pleasing the most people, just can’t go wrong with marble.

    I’m doing yellow butter cake with chocolate frosting, myself. I am way more concerned about taste than looks so I decided to scrap the fancy pinterest cakes and have my favorite type of cake instead.

    If you are doing a cake with multiple tiers then you could do different flavors on different tiers. We’re doing white on the bottom, chocolate in the middle, and red velvet on the top. My favorite is white so that gets my vote if you have to pick one

    I would go with a marble cake or chocolate and white cake if you can have different flavors.   Red velvet is also very popular among guests.  I like different flavors, so for our wedding, we had the bakery specialty called tropical paradise, which was a tri-layered cake consisting of guava, passionfruit, and lemon flavors.  It was fantastic.  We had no leftovers.

    This is probably an unpopular opinion haha, but I’m always disappointed when the wedding cake is white cake.  I know sometimes it’s really good, but I’ve just had so many mediocre ones.  If you wanted to spruce up white cake, you could always have raspberry filling or something in between the layers.  Our cake was pineapple and it was goooood 🙂  The groom’s cake was italian chocolate and also very delicious!

    Then again, if you love white cake and have a good baker, go for it!  It’s your wedding 🙂

    Do your favorite flavor, no need to follow traditional. Ours is green tea with red bean filling (we do tea party theme), and everyone love it.

    Me and my fiance LOVE chocolate. So we are doing a fudgey chocolate cake with a layer of raspberry and white buttercream icing.
