@sjhanddab2014: Yeah! (Well, it’s my husband’s parents.) When we were putting together our wedding slideshow, I pulled aside a photo from both of our parents’ weddings of them cutting their cake. I framed them and put them on the cake table as a surprise – they loved it! It was super cute if I do say so myself.
@mrswhitemtn: aw thanks! Yours is really classic and beautiful.

We spent about $300 on ours and it served 100 people. We had a chocolate layer and a to die for vanilla with fresh fruit. I loved it!
The colours look really harsh in this picture, but it was a soft coral ribbon and pale yellow flowers in real life.

We paid $140 for 96 cupcakes and a small top tier cake. We also had a smore’s bar for guests who might want something other than cake.

We paid around $150 for ours to feed 175 and then ordered cupcakes from Sams Club (another 90) to feed our 225 guests (we figured around 2 cupcakes a person). We did a hazelnut cake with mocha buttercream filling for 2 layers and a lemon cake with fresh raspberry buttercream filling for the middle tier.

@lolot: I love that idea. My daddy died a few years ago, so I think it would be really cool to have a picture of him and my mom cutting their cake as another way of remembering him and having him there.

my absolute favorite food in the world is my grandmother’s lemon pound cake, so she’s making 6 large ones plus some smaller ones – i can’t wait!
