Our wedding has been re-scheduled for October… Probably the most difficult desicion I have EVER had to make… and with it brought many tears!
Any other brides out there who had to cancel and/or reschedule their wedding due to Hurricane Irene?? How did you handle it?

I’m so sorry to hear that … I imagine that’s beyond stressful. How are vendors handling it? Are they being cooperative/understanding, given the circumstances?

@msrdsx82: My heart goes out to you! Im so sorry this happened. Im sure your wedding will be gorgeous in October!
Did you lose any of your deposits? Were vendors helpful?

We didnt lose any money… they are being great and all of our vendors are available in October. We actually got married at our rehearsal in front of our parents and wedding party because we didnt want to wait or go on our honeymoon not married… so we leave tomorrow for our honeymoon which I am excited about. However, I never got to put my dress on and I am looking forward to October!!

@msrdsx82: awww… i’m glad you went ahead and got married though – what a fantastic story you’ll have. married amidst the hurricane with only your nearest and dearest there! it’s sort of romantic, you know? and you still get to have the big wedding, just delayed :]

@msrdsx82: AWWWWW, SO SORRY

@elliestan: Yeah I was thinking the same thing…
@msrdsx82: Did it feel romantic and super intimate with just your parents and wedding party in attendance?

I was feeling so sad for you when I read your first post (and still think that must have been such a crazy/stressful moment for you) – But, when I read your second post and saw that you still had your rehearsal with a fewe family/friends and actually got married..and now you get to go on your honeymoon, I was thinking Wow, that;s actually kind of cool. You got to have this little weekend (+a story to always remember) a honeymoon, and on your honeymoon you still get to look forward to an amazing wedding in October! When everyone else leaves their honeymoon, that tends to be “it”. You still have fun to look forward to and if you think like that, you’ll have to be happy 🙂 And just think, in October, you get to be super excited and romantic all over again. Maybe you can plan a MINI trip for after the reception in October too – as a gift to yourselves for this happening

@msrdsx82: Oh no! What a drag! Well I’m glad for you that your vendors are being super cool about it and I hope you have a lovely day in October. (I am partial to that month… 😉 ) Have a wonderful honeymoon and make the most of this extended festive time in your life. Best wishes!

Aww my heart goes out to you. When watching the coverage on the news I straight away thought of people who were due to get married. Glad your vendors are being understanding and cooperative. By The Way for what my 5 cents is worth, I love October 😉
