caylink :  I have seen brides with capes on here but they are more summery/tulle capes, this is a thread that stood out to me where a bride DIYed hers

I seriously love the idea of a winter cape though, I absolutely would have done something like this if we had a winter wedding.

I didn’t wear one, but I kind of wish I did. I LOVE THEM.

caylink :  OMG, for the love of all that is good and holy in this world, PLEASE wear a cape. I am begging you. And then come back and post a bajillion photos so I can live vicariously through you. I am madly obsessed with capes and have worn them on several occasions but couldn’t make one fit in with our August wedding. Still bummed about that.

Eeeek I’m wearing a ‘secret cape’ haha. Well sort of. I am having a destination wedding and having my dress custom made. I’m having a detachable overskirt with a hefty train and a rather dramatic cathedral length veil! When I get back to the uk, I am having a reception but I was feeling pretty bummed as it’s a month later and I’m sure that pics of the dress will have found their way onto social media. Soooooo, I’ve asked my designer for a tulle cape. I won’t wear my veil or train at this reception so it will look like a different dress. I love a twist hahahahaha. Literally no one knows so it will be a surprise for everyone including Fi and bridesmaids etc. Here are the pics I showed the designer.

Kaley Cuoco (actress from the Big Bang Theory) wore one at her wedding last weekend! I thought it looked awesome!

I’m also considering a cape for my winter wedding! I’m between a stole/wrap and some sort of cape. I might order a bunch of cheap ones off amazon or something and try and figure out what I like best.

Hi Bee, absolutely go for it! I love capes as they just seem to add an air of grandeur and elegance. I tried this dress during my very first bridal fitting and I fell in love with capes ever since but of course, the price tag was not something I could afford so I will just admire its beauty on pinterest. LOL
