i totally didt care about whther colors were "spring or summer" enough i went with black Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses (their choice of style) in chiffon…
i dont really think you should follow any "rules" – go with what you love!
we’re doing black and white with splashes of fuschia, pale pink, and silver

I’m getting married April 09 as well and although some people think my colors are ‘so fall’. It doesn’t matter, I need to have chocolate brown to neutralize my banquet room and I need a nice accent color to go with the tuscan theme of the hall and my heavy red/gold indian wedding so I chose spice orange. So Brown and Orange….
Seriously its what works best for you! Although I am a fan of chocolate brown and pink =)

Too funny. I just got off the phone with my mom who is objecting to the invitations because they aren’t good colors for a summer wedding. (Pink and creme with a chocolate brown accent and brown ink.) Our actual colors for the ceremony (dresses, flowers, etc) are pink and lavender, but there is a fair amount of dark brown wood in our venue, so I thought brown accent wasn’t out of our general scheme. But who knows.
I am going to look one more time at pink and lavender and creme (FI will think is too girly looking for invitations) and maybe pink and garnet and creme, which I think will look too valentines-y. And then I’m going to tell her I don’t care what she thinks. Grrrr.
Remember that not everybody has to be all in your colors – BMs would usually be, but you could put the GMs in black or charcoal grey with your accent color (or one of your colors) as the vest color.

I think either of your colors are great. If you are too worried about the colors to keep either of the choices you have why not just switch one color. Instead of Black & white and Burgandy go with a Black & White and a blue or a red. (you can;t tell me red isn’t spring. all of those great red tulips. And they are in season as well as a realtively inexpensive flower!
