Well, here I am 10 months away from my wedding and haven’t the slightest clue what my colors are. I don’t even have a favorite color. I need help. My wedding is in July, all I know at this point is what i’m wearing and what the groom is wearing. I’m wearing white, not white-white or off white, but soft white and with a jeweled sash that’s sort of an antique white that kinda pops. I’m planning on finding sparkly shoes to match the belt. My fiance’ wants to wear black, black 3 piece suit/tux with black waist coat and we aren’t yet sure what color shirt/tie he should wear. I love the idea of a white wedding, just white white everywhere…but no one wants bridesmaids in white, so I have to figure out something. I do like the idea of throwing in some color. I love guava reds, or possibly even a blush pink…but I’m not the kinda girl to splash pinks and corals all over everything and everyone…but I would consider having some flowers with some color mixed in white white or cream. I dunno. I’m lost. Any ideas? How do you come up with your color scheme?

oh..and I like champange too. My sister likes it and said she’d wear it..but the other girls kinda look at me confused…plus I keep thinking if I do champange/white the groom will look weird in black. But I can tell you now he is the quintessential man in black and that’s one thing that’s not gonna change.

If your groom wants to wear black then so be it. 🙂 I am a firm believer in letting the groom put his personality into the wedding also. Perhaps, you could do all white flowers with a very pale shade of blue. Also, this would work with blush. You could let your bridesmaids wear the “color” and keep all the flowers, accents etc white? June is summer so even the brighter color of the coral or guava would work also. Good luck! 🙂

What I would recommend is to go on Pinterest and start a wedding board and start saving wedding images that appeal to you. Before you know it, you’ll take a look at your board and you will see your wedding vision come to life. I would also recommend you check out the Perfect Palette website and start looking at all the palettes, and see what color combos grab you. Doing both of these things really helped me figure out what my vision was and made planning so much easier.

I think champagne bridesmaid dresses are beautiful! Its YOUR wedding and maybe if you show them a few inspiration pictures, they would change their mind! Corals/guava/blush would look wonderful as accentes to the champagne and black of your grooms tux!!
To be honest, I had a hard time with a color palette also. I ended up not really choosing just 2 colors, I kinda choose a broad palette to go with and incorporated all the colors into my scheme. I went with fall-y jewel tone colors (ie: sapphire, plum, grey, with pops of gold, copper and pink!

Sounds good………….I really like your idea of complete white wedding……………….White is no doubt an everlasting color in wedding………….And perfect for summer weddings…………..
If you seriously want white wedding then sure you can…………And for bridesmaids who don’t want to wear white……….You can suggest them to wear something in Gray or Peach………….
I would suggest you to let your groom decide whatever he wants to wear………….Its his wedding also………And just like you……he also wants to look good………….

you can make a color palette on colourlovers.com. I would also suggest going to a home depot type store and look at their paint swatches. It really helped me!

Thanks guys…what do you thinka bout these? cream/ivory, white, coral and black.
Since Fiance is wearing black, I’m thinking put girls in ivory with MAYBE a black sash and using the coral color only in the floral arrangments and boquets. For the venue, I am renting tiffany chairs in the dark almost black color and I’m thinking lots of white/ivory decor cream roses mixed in with the coral. this is my attempt at being decisive. =/ what do you think?
