My wedding colors will be gold and light/turquoise blue. Since there are no flowers that come in these colors, we are adding coral and light pink to accompany the main gold and light blue colors.
We have picked out a beautful wedding invitation that consists of gold (yay!), light blue (yay!) and then dark blue (hmmm). This invitation is basically the same color scheme as my wedding, except we won’t be using dark blue but coral pink instead. However, I don’t want to get rid of the dark blue because it is the colors of the words of the invitation and provides a lot of contrast against the background, making for easy reading. My mother and fiancee, as well as myself, think this invitation would be great even though the colors are not EXACT but still along the same scheme, but I wanted to check here. What do you think? Will it still be oka to use or must all (not just most) colors from the wedding be included in the invitation?

You invitation sounds lovely and the colors will be fine. Not everything has to match exactly.

Your invitation will be fine. Many invitations are black on white and the color palette of the reception is not limited by that.

My colors were blue, red, and orange/yellow (Fall colors, minus the blue). I couldn’t find any inviations that worked with how I wanted them to be worded/designed and the colors. So they were a yellowish background, with red and orange dots/confetti at the top. Nothing that screamed Fall or our colors. It was the only thing I could find and figured… people will throw it out anyway so why should I spend any more time on it (I searched for MONTHS).
I had a friend shows colors were navy, light green and white – her invites were black.
Do what you want! 🙂

I think that as long as it’s not a dramatically different tone of blue (eg: a really purple-y royal blue when the blue you are using is on the teal/turquoise/green side of true blue) then you’re good to go.
For our invites, we only tied in the blue. We left out the golds, coppers, corals and pinks. (We have very similar colour schemes except we are using a dark teal blue.) And the invites we ended up adding dark brown belly bands. There’s no brown anywhere else in our wedding, but they provided some nice contrast to the blue and cream on the invites, and I couldn’t find a coppery/bronzey coloured paper that didn’t look bright orange.

That sounds fine! Our wedding colours were cobalt blue and sunshine yellow.
When I went to seek out invitation designs (ended up using Vistaprint), I couldn’t find anything that matched perfectly so I ended up choosing one that came in bright blue and gold. They were perfect and quite frankly, it doesn’t matter if it matches!

Our colors were navy and peach and my invitations were aqua. They sort of went with our theme/style but weren’t matchy-matchy. It’s fine
