@4years3months7days:  Typical blue or green? I’m not sure I know what you’re talking about. If you like champagne, blush and goldish yellow just go with one of those and use those as your wedding colors. You don’t really have to have a theme either. They’re relatively new and can make planning more stressful.

My colors are eggplant purple and gunmetal grey. The girls are all wearing the same color and style dress but I like the majority of things to be uniform.

You can honestly do what ever you want! Have you found dresses yet for the girls? Your wedding colors could easily be picked out depending on what colors are available with what dresses you choose.

I would try having a look through some wedding photos or inspirations boards and save copies of colour combinations that you like. A quick google search will turn up tons of ideas for different colour combinations. Personally, I think your colours sound lovely, especially if you did a softer gold, champagne and blush. If your fiance was hoping for “more colour” what about a bolder blue or turquoise with a yellowy-gold?

@4years3months7days:  I know what you mean. Bee Happy has a good suggestion. Inspiration boards! Google was my best friend when it came to picking out colors.

I came up with the colors myself. Coming up with a color scheme I loved was hard at first. I didn’t know instantly. First I wanted to do canary yellow and navy blue. Didn’t do that because those colors are far too summery for a fall wedding. Then chocolate brown but I didn’t know how to pair it with purple the way I’d like it. I finally settled with purple and grey which is the color I’ve dreamt of for years. I was trying to find colors that would flow with FI’s Class A’s and that weren’t screaming fall.

The color scheme you listed sounds just fine. But I do suggest throwing in a bold color of some sort. Black would make those three colors pop but still be subtle.

I know what you’re talking about as far as the dress color goes too. All I’ve really seen for yellows were like you mentioned, sunny bright yellows. Canary is soft, pastel yellow. I think champagne or even blush pink dresses would be just as lovely.

Do some Google research and see what you find!

ETA: I’ve dreamt of purple being one of my wedding colors for years.
