Wellllll I fall in the middle.  I chose the colors I wanted – maroon and gold, my two favorite colors – but they are also the colors of his favorite football team (49ers) – people have actually asked me if that’s why we have them – and not girly at all.  For example, I couldn’t have chosen pink lol.

I wanted pink and he said he wanted something else so we decided to add in green. ๐Ÿ™‚

I said “Let’s pick colors!” and he said “Wait.” So later I said “Let’s pick colors!” and he said “Can we talk about this later?” So after that I said “Let’s pick colors!!!!!!!!!!!” and he said “I have a lot of work to do.”

So I said “Our colors are mint green, lavendar, periwinkle, gold, and ivory.”

    And he said “Okay.”

I love pastel color pallettes, but FI really didn’t want a color scheme that was overly feminine. So green + white it is ๐Ÿ™‚

I knew we would be using red as one of our colors, since FI’s favorite color is red, and I wanted to use roses. Perfect! We were thinking of red, white, and black, but I thought we needed another color, because I didn’t want it to feel tooooo formal. One day while we were driving around we kept seeing all these beautiful teal cars (of all things!) and we both loved the color, so we decided to add in teal, skip the black, but keep the white, making our final colors red, teal, and white. I have never seen so many teal cars in my life, nor have I since! It must have been a sign. :]

I basically chose it all – he doesn’t know that weddings have colors, let alone care about what they should be. BUT, I’ve know this guy for 15 years and know his taste, and very much want this to be OUR party. So I would never pick things that dont fit his style – like hot pink, English tea party, black tie, etc etc…

Luckily for SO, we are bound by the decor of the restaurant where we are having our reception. And it’s a seaside restaurant at that- perfect for many shades of blue.

Otherwise, I would’ve loved a blush pink/gold look that’s definitely more “girly,” and I’m not sure what SO would say to that ๐Ÿ™‚

We each chose a color, he wanted black, and I wanted fuschia/hot pink. We decided we didn’t like the clash so much, so we threw in ivory, and made fuschia an accent color.

I picked color based off knowing we both like tradtional elegance and the color red… So I picked black, red and white. We both love wine so we are doing a slight wine theme. I ran both these by him and he liked them. That’s how most of our planning goes… I pick options or an idea and then we discuss, with him usually agreeing lol

My fiance doesn’t care too much about anything for everything, but when I asked him about wedding color he said “purple.” So it became purple. So I voted 3.

We actually had a legit discussion about this. We each picked a color family we liked and then tweaked hues until we got a pair we liked.
