We are giving our coordinator (a member of my family and a good friend) a spa gift certificate for mani, pedi and a massage…

I didn’t give our DOC anything because she owns her own business.

I was a coordinator at a venue for awhile, and most people didn’t tip. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t–I’m a firm believe in tipping all vendors, whether they are included w/the venue or not. Is this someone you hired on your own or someone the venue provides? Think about how many hours he/she is putting into it (how much planning and how much work on the day of) and then tip based on that. If she is just showing up and running things for a few hours, that’s not nearly as stressful as planning it out, setting things up and staying there until everything has been cleared from the venue.

@iheartct:It’s hard to give an amount without knowing what the venue costs, but it sounds like she’s doing a fair amount to contribute to your day. Give her enough to show your appreciation without breaking the bank!

@mkewed2010:I’m not understanding what you mean by that. Why would it matter if she has her own business or not?

Our coordinator is one of our church members. We plan on tipping her something, we just don’t know what it is.
