Honestly- more than the mortgage on my house. Which I was not comfortable with, but my parents are paying & insisted. (I did ask if we could elope & use the money to pay off my house/put towards a new house- but no) I’m still trying to cut corners where I can, but that’s tricky in NYC, but I’m doing my best! Haha

This is really an event for my Dad- he wanted a big event and picked the venue. So I’m sleeping better telling myself that it’s his party not mine!

Plus anything ‘extra’ I’m not telling my parents about- other wise it would come out of the ‘budget’ which has already almost doubled (not my call). So I’m personally paying for my BM’s dresses and their hotels, my rehearsal dress etc.

My parents paid for our wedding and while I don’t know the official tally, I would guess it was around $75k. We had a very large wedding, 300 people invited, which attributed to the high cost.

My moms paying for the wedding and originally the budget I had set was 30k now I’ll be lucky if it’s kept under 50k not including honeymoon rings or dress

We wanted to spend 20k or less but apparently that’s not possible in my city. Now we are looking more at 25 (Not including honeymoon). I was feeling bad about that until I saw some of these posts! Trying to keep it down as much as possible.

Mine was somewhere in the neighborhood of 7000.  We had a small event and probably half that money went to renting a couple of 6-seater UTVs and putting guests up for a night or two.  We rented a bunch of cabins and a lodge, self-catered, didn’t get the big cake, didn’t buy the expensive clothes and got our centerpiece flowers from whatever was available at the grocery store a couple of days before and DIYd the vases.  Our ceremony venue was BLM land, so free.  So really let’s say a 3000 or 4000 dollar wedding plus room/board for many of our guests.  And UTV’s, which were a blast.

$150k budget right now, will probably end up being more because my mom and I can’t help ourselves and need to keep ordering silly extras, lol. Parents are paying, I’m their only daughter, and my brother is practical to the point of being a total killjoy at times, so this is their only chance to have a blowout family event and they’re taking it. This doesn’t include the honeymoon, which we are paying for ourselves and will probably turn out to be another $18-$20k.

Wedding for 100 people – $11,000 (we paid $5k, parents paid $6k)

Honeymoon cruise to Puerto Rico – $3,500

Wedding bands and engagement ring – $4,000

Total – $18,500

We loved everything, but looking back I would not have spent a penny more.

conejo55:  We spent about $14k total for an afternoon ceremony/reception with 165 guests in Southern California. I did a LOT of DIY and we definitely stuck to a strict budget.

My parents are paying for the Nigerian tradition wedding part…which would be roughly $10,000-$15,000ish and then me and my fiance will pay for the white wedding…which is probably going to be close to $20,000. Two weddings will probably be approximately $40,000. I’m trying to figure out ways it could be lower with close to 500 guests..lol.

I’m guessing our wedding is going to be between 10k and 15k. Parents are helping pay for part of the wedding (venue, catering, flowers, music); Fiance and I paid for our own wedding rings, honeymoon, decor, and bridal party attire. Originally we wanted a super intimate wedding, but once the ball got rolling and family got involved and we started writing our guest list….well, you know how that goes. We’re expecting between 100-120 guests.

Orginally our budget was 20,000 but its slowly creeping up. Hopefully we can do it all for 25K!
