I think ours was between $4500-$5000. That includes the dress and rings. We did not have a honeymoon. I really want to see pics of these higher budget weddings! I bet it will be beautiful!! 😀

  • Wedding: August 2017

We are getting married in August 2017 with around 15-20 guests and I’m expecting it to come in somewhere between £5-10k. We are having a beach wedding in Greece which is about £4k all in, including the ceremony, a beach BBQ reception and a free bar until 4am, which I think is excellent value for money. Then there’ll obviously be money to be spent on my dress, FI’s outfit, bridesmaids/groomsmens outfits, rings etc. We’d like to take everybody out for a meal on the first and last nights and pay for an excursion or too as well.

Although it’s cheap (relatively speaking, although I think £4k is a hell of a lot to spend on what’s basically a party!), I really don’t feel that we’ve had to miss out on anything or that we’ve taken the budget option anywhere…it’s amazing how much cheaper it is to get married in Europe than the UK. It would be so much more expensive doing it here and even in the height of ‘Summer’ you’d still have a decent chance of rain!

We are paying for ours ourselves. It’s coming in at around $10k for a guestimated 60 guests so far (inviting 70)! We haven’t included the rings or honeymoon in the budget though.

Just under $10k (hopefully!), including rings, dress/suit and all the wedding venue and stuff. The two of us are paying. No honeymoon this year, we’re tapped out! So much for a tiny wedding…

Venue is the the main cost at about $5k, and the rings were next at about $2k. We’re having a luncheon reception for about 50 people with alcohol, but with no dancing or anything like that. Venues for 50 seated were so expensive, even rooms at venues owned by the city, once you factored in rentals, food etc. So we settled on a local resturant which hosts weddings and will take care of everything for the price of the food and drink at a very reasonable minimum, plus 20% service. We’re having it on a Sunday because of the date, but not a single venue we looked at was cheaper on certain days of the week. Must just be a banquet hall thing!

Originally budgeted for $15k, looks like it’ll be more like $20k including rehearsal dinner.  Around $12k from my parents, about $3k from his parents and about $5k from us.

Edit: this is for a pretty traditional wedding on a Saturday evening for ~80 people.  Not DIYing anything besides a couple little touches.

We budgeted $15-$20k (live in NYC).  So far we’re at $16k and my dad chipped in $5k, my mother paid for my dress which was $2k my Maid/Matron of Honor paid for my veil $350 and my godmother gave me some money as well.  Thanks to that I do expect us to still be under $20k.

Between 12k to 15k. His parents are covering the amount of the food & beverage minimum at our restaurant reception and the rest of it we are paying for ourselves. Initially the budget was under 10k, but we decided to buy out the whole restaurant since his mom had a lot of people she was determined to invite and it was worth it to her to pay the difference.

conejo55:  when we were planning the huge 250 person wedding it was going to be 75k but now our intimate wedding is going to be about 40k I’m working on renting out a plantation in new orleans. So our guests rooms will be free for them.

We are then having an all white beach celebration in California for my extended family and a clam bake in Massachusetts for his extended family.

Fi’s family is help paying for it but we’re doing most of it ourselves. If we were to do the big huge wedding they’d be paying for it all.

For our guest list of 150,  we are budgeting $8,000. This includes a nice venue, soul food catering (buffet), photo booth, DJ, photographer, videographer, etc. I’m very excited and we may even end up coming in under budget!!

Before we started planning, we thought that we could do what we wanted with 20k.  BUT, now our 120-130 person wedding is looking like 35k, and that’s excluding a bunch of extras that we are forgoing, and some complimentary services from friends.

Around $40k for a pretty upscale museum wedding in a major (but affordable) city for around 100 guests. If I had been on a budget I could have gotten it closer to $30k, but my mom (who’s paying) wanted me to have everything exactly the way I wanted it. That doesn’t include the honeymoon, which is around $6k.
