ashleymarie843 :  This does not apply to me because I haven’t had my wedding yet but I can tell you all my girlfriends who got married ballpark it around $30K in my area. They mostly have similar weddings, church then generic hotel evening reception (Sheraton, Marriot or Hilton) with roughly 130 guests. For some reason, all of them exclude rings and honeymoon so the amount I wrote does not include those 2 aspects.

ETA: To give you more of a picture, they say that about 2/3 of the cost I wrote above go to the reception which typically consist of 1 hour open bar only and about 4 kinds of passed finger foods for cocktail hour. Then dinner starts with a salad course. Then a plated entree with one meat option and potato & veggie side. Then dessert is just a slice of the wedding cake. So it’s pretty standard and nothing extravagant.

The remaining 1/3 goes to church fee, dj (never saw a band in a wedding before), florals, bride & groom attires, favors, stationaries, and photography/videography.

I haven’t had mine yet either. We’ve OVER budgeted, and are at $27k. That includes budgeting an extra $500 for my dress (getting custom made, so in case I need a backup dress), $900 for flowers (that we now just got a bunch of free fake flowers and will probably use them, so actual flower costs will be much less). Budgeting for 100 guests in BC. I’m hoping actual is closer to $23. We over budgeted for alcohol so can return too.

I dont have a cost of everything on your list.

Venue – $5700

Food/drink/cake food $6000, drinks/dish rentals $3500

Dress/alterations/accessories $1000

DJ/Band $1350

Ceremony music Incl with DJ

Hair/makeup Budgeted $250, actual will be $180 or so.

Decor/floral ???

Photography/videography $2250

Rentals Incl above

Groom’s attire Not sure yet

Bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts I think we budgeted $300 total

Officiant Budgeted $250, actual cost should be $100 ish

Rehearsal dinner Budgeted $600, actual cost will be less

Stationary Cant remember. Got our invites and STDs for $60, still need postage and Thank You cards.

Wedding bands I already have one, Fiance just wants somethig cheap. I think he budgeted $100 lol.

catskillbride :  Wow, nyc/nj/philadelphia metropolitan areas are really expensive! I have never attended a wedding in that area but from what I have seen from Four Weddings tv show (TLC feautures a ton of weddings  from there), the cocktail hours are very lavish with food/open bar and almost always a black tie event. I was once talking to a girl from there and she said it’s kinda common to pay $200-300 per person with reception only.

cake-sweet table w/ cutting cake 900

Decor-1000-2000 (lost track)

floral- 1500

Photography/videography- photography 5000 ( 2 photographers 1 assistant) videography 5000 ( 12 hours 2 videographers)

Rentals-Transportation for guests 1,000 2 coach busses for all day

Groom’s attire-1500

Bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts-2000

Officiant- Cousin, took him and his wife out to dinner and will be giving him a gift ~200 ( we think)

Rehearsal dinner- grooms parents paid…likely around 2000

Venue/food/bar – $45,000

Decor/flowers – $8000

stationary – $600

cake – $500

transportation – $300

rings -$1500

photography – $2600

videography – $2400

dj – $1000

hair/makeup – $500

shoes – $300

clothes for parties – $500

Groom – $600

officiant – $500

I am sure I am forgetting stuff. I didn’t include dress and accessories of $5000 as my mom paid for it and honeymoon.

havent had our weddin yet it is in Sept 2017 but we have booked/paid deposit for almost everything and our budget/total will be around 46k for 175 people in Niagara on the Lake in Canada.

That total includes everything plus wedding dress but not wedding bands or honeymoon.

Wedding bands i hope we can do within 1500 for both and we will be going to Europe following summer for honeymoon god knows how much that will drain our account :/ but we will be doing a mini moon in Miami right after wedding.

My cost is pretty average for a nice wedding within the Toronto and surrounding area

ETA: my dad is making a generous contribution and my mom is paying for my dress/heeks/veil and Fiance parents are covering rehearsal dinner and officiant so thats not in the above budget.. we are so lucky and blessed as otherwise id be eating beans for a year

We have not had our wedding yet but we’re actually done planning mostly everything! Our wedding is in NC & we’re spending about $30,000. (200 guests)

Venue (including catering, & alcohol)- $16,000

Cake- $500

Dress- $1,500

DJ/Lighting- $1,400

Hair/Makeup- $700

Decor/Floral/Rentals- $3,400

Photography/Videography- $4,000

Groom’s Attire- $400

Bridesmaid/Groomsmen Gifts- $500

Officiant- $100

Save The Dates- $200

Day of Coordinator- $1,600

We still have to do invitations, programs, favors & a few more smaller things…but the bulk is done.

My parents are paying for everything listed except for the grooms attire & the gifts we’re getting our bridal party. Oh, also the cake, FI’s mom wanted to pay for that (she’s a baker).

His family is paying for the entire rehearsal dinner. I’m not sure how much that is going to cost so I didn’t include it.

Mine is about 135$/pp package.  Included: Reception Venue, ceremony site, chair rental, 1 hour cocktails, 5 course meal, midnight snacks, DJ, Live band for ceremony, limo service and free one night stay for Bride and Groom.  We saved money on officiant/minister and our photographer because we know people.  I like this because its a one payment package, no paying each vendor separately especially since we are planning long distance.  So with that plus all the little extras we are under 18K.  We are paying for the entire thing ourselves, but my mom is graciously gifting me my dress. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is Ontario, Canada

Edited: for 120 guests.

Our wedding was between 8 and 9k. The budget was 8 and overall we stayed to it, there were just some random little expenses that I didn’t pay for from the wedding fund throughout the process. That does not include our rings, as we budgeted for that separately. For our honeymoon (also not included) we went to Mexico, I think it was in the 3k range but can’t remember exactly, our budget was not huge for that either.

We had 110 guests (150 invited) and I’m in the midwest.

  • Wedding: May 2017 - The Summit Country Day School Chapel/The Hilton Netherland Plaza Hall of Mirrors

Here’s what we have so far:

Venue/Food/drink/cake: The hotel will be catering and making our cake. This plus the use of the ballroom has a minimim of $30,000. It will probably be closer to $45,000 once everything is added up.

Dress/alterations/accessories: My dress and accessories came in right under $5,000.

DJ/Band: Cost for the band is $4220

Ceremony music: $2175. The band for the reception is letting us use their trumpet player for an extra $250, we had to hire a choir since the church does not provide one and then our cantor who will probably charge around $150-200.

Hair/makeup: $1465

Decor/floral: $22,450

Photography/videography: $3355 for 2 photographers for all day coverage. No videographer.

Officiant: Using the priest for the school where my Fiance went. No specific charge for him but the cost for the space is $1200. We will be getting him a gift in addition.

Rehearsal dinner: Minimum is $4,000.

Stationary: We have only sent out save the dates so far but those with custom stamps and having the stationary lady hand address them came out to a little under $1,000.

Wedding bands: We are budgeting about $4,000 for both of our bands.

Favors: $200 for 200 opera cream chocolates.

Transportation: $2817 for transportation for the wedding party and parents/grandparents.

No honeymoon plans yet and we plan on waiting till mid-late summer.
