Wedding rings: $1000 AUD estimate / $770 USD – Mine is a plain platinum band, his is a plain 9ct white gold band. Though they are not actually in our budget as we are doing a trade  with our jeweler friend in exchange for plumbing work lol.

Honeymoon: 3 weeks in South East Asia over the Christmas period… $8000 AUD / $6156 USD. 

Our wedding is coming in at around $10,500 AUD / $8080 USD

We’re  trying to keep our South Florida wedding at $7k or less. We’re paying for the day ourselves,as many couples on the bee, but our numbers are just a little tight! We’re aiming for 75 guests for a morning/lunchtimes ceremony. 


Venue- a local park with indoor rustic reception and beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces for only $900! This also includes tables and chairs

Dress- from ModCloth for only $125, it should be here soon super nervous! 

Food- we found a local burger shop to do a casual lunch for $1,000

drinks- Fi’s family is kind enough to help out! The venue only allows beer and wine which should actually help keep costs in check. 

Invites are going to be simple, hopefully within $200-$300ish 

photos are the big splurge for $2k

our linens/decor should be about $1,200, it’s already a beautiful space 

We’re also very lucky to have some incredibly talented friends who are offering discounted prices for their help. We have a phenomenal hairdresser friend, a Dj buddy and baker friends who are willing to help with these necessities as gifts or for discounted prices. Of course if they won’t take money we’ll still figure out how to thank them with big gifts! 


Hoping we can manage to keep it all in budget!

We’re getting married in a little over a month in the DC area. We budgeted $10-12k for about 65 people. We ended up spending close to $11k with 55 people attending.

It’s tough to stay within your budget (regardless of what that is), but it’s always possible! To save some money, we’re having a friend officiate our wedding, a co-worker’s sister is making our cake, I’m doing my own hair and make-up, and our favors are really small/inexpensive.

We live in Chicago but had our wedding in my hometown about 1.5 hours outside the city. Ended up wtih 115 guests, the entire cost was around $22K which was our budgeted amount. We had $14 left in our wedding savings account after everything was paid haha.  We ended up paying about 30% ourselves, my parents gave us a lump sum of 10K, and his parents paid about 20% so we were lucky to have the help!


Venue -$800

Food/drink/cake:  Plated meal- came to about $3250 with tax/gratuity/service charge, bar-$1750, cake- we had 110 cupcakes, a small wedding cake, a grooms cake, and two macarons for each guest as a favor $800

Dress/alterations/accessories $2000 including alterations

DJ/Band $1095

Ceremony music $100 organist fee

Hair/makeup $700 for me and 5 bridesmaids

Decor/floral $4900, this included bouquets/bouttenieres, 15 centerpieces, altar flowers, and lighting/draping at venue

Photography/videography $3500

Rentals $0

Groom’s attire $250 suit rental

Bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts – about $500 total

Officiant – $150 priest fee

Rehearsal dinner – DH’s parents paid for this, it was around $1000

Stationary – about $250 for STDs and invites

Wedding bands – about $1300 for both

Limo – $595 I think?

Venue/Food/Drink – All included in the headcount, we have invited 288 guest and are expecting probably 250 to show up. This will be approximately $14k

Cake – My mom is making our cake that we will cut, but can’t serve to the guest due to liability or something. So we are having cake pops and they are $1.75/pop – approximately going to be $600

Dress/alterations/accessories – Dress with alterations came out to $1700, accesories have been extremely inexpensive, cathedral veil – $17, headpiece – $17, bracelet – $20, shoes – $50

DJ/Band – $1350

Ceremony music – $500

Hair/makeup/pampering – Going to be approximately $300

Decor/floral – We did silk flowers that my mom has been putting together and they are gorgeous, I don’t know the exact amount we’ve spent, but my guess would be $300-500, which includes all the bouquets, bouts and corsages

Photography/videography – Photographer – $2595 Videographer – $1700

Rentals – None

Groom’s attire – Approximately $600, he bought a suit and all the other stuff, shirt, shoes, tie, socks, belt

Bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts – We have 7 attendants on each side, so this was on the more expensive side, we spent about $100/person

Officiant – This was WAY over budget because my Godfather who is the priest that married my parents is marrying us and we had to cover all of this travel expenses from South Africa. All costs will be close to $2000, airfaire, hotel, rental car etc.

Rehearsal dinner – This is being covered by my Future Mother-In-Law and I believe she is spending about $2000, there will be 70+ guests for just the rehearsal.

Stationary – Great deal with Vistaprint – $165 for 150 invites and rsvp cards, spent a little more on Save the Dates that looked like baseball tickets, $350, Stamps have been ridiculous – over $150

Wedding bands – My wedding band $999, his $449 total with warranties and such $1860

Honeymoon – Sandals Negril Jamaica, approximately $8k for a butler service room and a weeks stay

Overall its looking like its going to be about $45k with everything included. We are in the Chicagoland area. And as stated before, approximately 250 guests. It’s about $15k over our budget, but our original budget did not include the Honeymoon, so really it’s like $7k over budget.

Oh my goodness this post gave me heart palpitations. All in I’m less than $10k for 100 people, plated dinner and full open bar. I live in a non-major city space with a low cost of living, I guess.
