I had an excel spreadsheet that had two tallies. One was for specif day of costs of throwing the party (14,300) and the other was an extremely inclusive (think charging myself mileage every time I drove somewhere specifically for something wedding related, every bridal magazine, all meals if I met bridesmaids to plan and picked up the tab etc.) budget of 28,900!  Including all rings and honeymoon costs. Yikes.

I do not include rings, honeymoon, or any sort of pre-parties in my cost.  I also do not include the rehersal dinner, as it’s not a cost I’m directly incurring (FI’s family is paying).

We are keeping it to just day of costs….I would not like what it looked like if we added in rings, honeymoon and all the little things I buy here and there in support of it.

When I mention my budget, it usually includes everything the day of, wedding rings, & rehearsal dinner. It does not include my engagement ring or the honeymoon, because my engagement ring was already paid for when we made our budget, and we didn’t “budget” for the honeymoon, per se, we just waited to see how much our tax returns were, and used that money to book the honeymoon.

When I talk about budget, I’m talking about day of… My parents gave us an amount to work with.  We personally paid for our rings, my dh paid for his attire and for the honeymoon, and his parents paid for the rehearsal.  So, my budget doesn’t include those things.  I would say that is pretty typical – at least I generally think of the budget as including just the day of things 🙂

When I check out venuse and prices I only include the day of stuff. I don’t really includ wedding dress since no matter where we get married I’ll be getting a dress. Sme with rings, and honeymoon. Anything I have bought for DIY at this point I have not included either.

I include absolutely everything in my budget – even a $5 paper punch.  My Fiance and I are paying for the entire thing ourselves, so the budget is very near and dear to us.  I have a gigantic and formula intense spreadsheet that I refer to several times a week. It is either going to keep me sane or drive me crazy…the jury is still out!

Adding wedding rings and honeymoon…and I agree that little expenses like favor bags also get added up!

Everything is in except for the honeymoon, and the bridal shower (thrown by Future Mother-In-Law, FSILs & MOH)
