Hello, bees! I’m sharing this quick and easy craft with you for “Thank You” type signs that we’ve all seen on Pinterest. I also did two other signs, both in German and Italian for “My Wife,” in addition to the “Thank You” signs. I had seen a picture with the wedding party holding signs that said “Some chicks marry chicks, get over it!” on Pinterest. I liked the idea, except that it felt kind of rude to me the way it was worded. Soooo, I came up with “Mia Moglie” (Italian) and “Meine Frau” (German) for us to hold instead as we’re proud of our Italian and German heritages. It gets the point across without that “in your face, eff you” feeling, I think. We’re a two bride wedding, but you could do this with your husband too! For example, Mi Esposa/Marito, etc.
Anyhow, on to the crafts. These are super easy even for the new to DIY bride. Any colored manila folder will work, in your wedding color (ours are blue and brown, so I did a blue folder and brown ink in the printer.) These can be found easily for $.10 at Staples or what have you. Cut the larger side of the manila folder off and set aside. Get some glue sticks like kids use for school – liquid glue makes the paper wrinkle and spread it on the back of your printed paper or cardstock, all over. I mean seriously, all over…to the edges. Lay it gently onto the cut piece of folder and smooth down firmly when you have placed it where you want. Trim edges evenly with a straight edge or craft scissor (fun edging anyone?) I decorated ours with some ribbon we had leftover from crafting other things for the wedding. Total cost? About $.50 a sign.
Firenze Jr. decided she wanted to be in the picture. She gives a good size reference.
