We had cupcakes, but Idk how fancy they were. The baker said we could flower shaped icing or fancier cupcake liners, but we said we didnt need them.

They did do multi colored icing on them though, which was a nice (and unexpected) touch. We thought they would be solid purple, but they put blue on the top, I guess to match the cake.

Vineyard-bride15:  Cupcakes! Here’s our style sans the big white flower on top of the small round cake and mini flowers on the cupcakes.

Vineyard-bride15:  I love the idea!  You can get so many different flavors / icing styles and stack them in so many different ways!  I think they’re a great hit with kids and adults alike!

you can still feed each other a bite of cupcake too!

That is the exact same thing that I am doing. I am only serving my wedding party and parents the bridal cake and cupcakes because I will be having a desert table with over 20 types of deserts and I just want something for us to cut into and serve each other.

Vineyard-bride15:  We are doing both! Going to do a small cake (to cut) and then have a bunch of cupcakes that look like flowers! Sooo excited for this! Best of both worlds in my mind! And as a guest I would prefer a cupcake so I can just walk up, help myself and walk away. Also, with cupcakes you could do different flavours! We have 5 different wedding colors so we will have 5 different colored cupcakes and each color will mean a different flavour!

Vineyard-bride15:  Thank you! I am with your fiance on that one! I just like the tradition of cutting the cake together! And I fell in love with the small white lace cake.. but as a wedding guest I do love cupcakes better! They are just so much easier!
