Out of curiosity, what is everyone doing to cut back for their wedding? If anything.
Be it, cut back on guests at the wedding to make it more affordable or cutting back on tuesday night pizza during your engagement to save more?

We picked a venue that had a strict head count so neither of our parents could let the guest list get out of hand. Small wedding party (two each side), I’m DIY-ing a lot of stuff too. No flowers at the reception…that alone saved us $500!! I make jewelry as a hobby so I didn’t have to spend a lot on accessories and always always always ask people if you can borrow stuff! 🙂
Hope this helps, let me know if you need any other ideas or have questions 🙂

@LoveGator2012: we are having fabric flowers instead of real flowers, no flowers for the mums of brides or groom or bouts for the boys or on church pews.
using a decorater that is connected to the venue place (offeres a deal)
bought wedding rings at end of finacial year sale (yes i bought them way early but i saved almost $700)
bought bridesmaids dresses at sale (saved $200)
bought shoes on sale (saved $80)
small bridal party (2 each side) small wedding (50)
free Save-The-Date Cards (yay) because she is doing our invites
im not talented enough to do DIY 🙁

I’m DIYing my invites, programs, cardbox, and candy buffet. So, that’s saving me some money.

Fi designed all the invitations and inserts (and menu, etc) so we saved a TON of money there. A few DIy that saved me a lot of money. And finding vendors and wedding things for cheap.
Things we’re cutting back on to save more money for the wedding:
lavish b-day parties for the kids (they still get a party but I don’t spend as much money).
Eating out or going out: so we’re still working on this but fi is bad about it more so than me.
Not shopping frivolously.
