Where I live, August is still too hot and usually filled with end of summer vacations and back to school prep. November is colder and a bit close to holiday season for me. I’d shoot for mid October before Halloween gets in swing.

But im biased… I’m getting married this October. 🙂

Where in the Midwest are you from? With August, I’d be worried about humidity, but I don’t know the exact deets of your locale.

August in the midwest can be miserable with the heat and humidity. I would for October. I got married in Minnesota in mid-October and we lucked out with beautiful weather for our outdoor ceremony. I would just make sure you have a back-up plan for inside backup plan in case the unpredictable midwest weather turns bad for you.

If you are wanting an outdoor wedding in IA, I would consider September or October.   August would be too hot and November would be really risky weatherwise with either cold or snow.

kenziewol :  I live in Missouri and I cannot imagine attending or being in a wedding outside in August. It’s way too hot and humid around here. I think your October dates would be lovely, however!

November becomes hard for us to take time off from work.  We might end up having to pick between a wedding and Thanksgiving with our families, and Thanksgiving would likely win.  I’d pick October first, then August.

As someone from the Midwest, I think 10/17 is the best option. It’ll likely be chilly, but not terrible. Guests can always add layers if needed, but there’s not much they can do when sweating bullets sitting in the summer sun.

kenziewol :  Beautiful venue.  I would definitely pick October then since September is all booked.  August would be too hot.

If I have to choose between sweating through my dress and makeup in August or having to wear a wrap in October I’d rather wear a wrap. That’s direct sun with no cover…
