We knew a general time of year and it was up to when the venue was available.

We looked at times when I was out of school and wouldn’t conflict with family functions. We went with NYD because we knew we would always be off on that date, and we would have time to go on a honeymoon while school was out.

We originally wanted October 8 but that was taken by Yom Kippur a Jewish holiday ( i’m jewish) so we moved the date to October 1 which happens to be my great grandmas bday and i was very close to her growing up!

We love our officiant, the priest who confirmed me, & chose our date based on his availability.  We also love that it’s in the month that we first started dating 12 years ago (we didn’t celebrate a dating anniversary, so we don’t know that exact date, but it was in the month of June).

We originally wanted 9/10/11, but the venue we wanted wanted to charge us an exhorbitant rate, so we switched it to 3/31/11 which just happens to be 9 days after my birthday, 9 days before FI’s birthday, and a full house for luck. We had been together for 9 years at the time we picked the date and the numbers add up to 9 (3+3+1+1+1=9) and the number is divisable by 3. These numbers just seem to fall into place for us.
