@MrsBuesleBee: Thanks for the great advice! I really think you hit the nail on the head. Just chalk it up to an unfortunate accident and congratulate them. It is an exciting time for both of us. I’ll also speak with my Fiance and see if they would like to go a celebratory dinner with just the two of us. 🙂

@mdwilson86: yes have a dinner! And I don’t know if you were planning on it but an engagement party is a nice way for people who can’t make your wedding to come celebrate you (like the cousin and FIs family that will need to go to cousins over yours)

we just found out recently that my FH uncle wedding was around the same time as ours, they sent out STDs, We didn’t but family knew of our date, and then FH uncle change his date to ours even after sending STDs for a different date
but oh well, theres nothing we can do I can’t ask him to change his date and he can’t ask me to change the date

Just because a deposit has been placed, it doesn’t mean that you can’t change the date- call your church/venue, and see what the options are.
I got married outdoors in July in Baltimore- a summer wedding is doable, especially since you’re having a church wedding (outdoor ceremonies in August can be brutal.)

@HisIrishPrincess: I agree.
What does Future Mother-In-Law say, OP? Is the cousin’s date set in stone? Have you looked into other possible dates for your wedding?
