If you just have this venue I would just wait until spring. What’s another 6 months? Then you and your guests can be happy. This whole Thanksgiving weekend thing is a mess. Don’t do that to your guests. You get one wedding day. If you want people to be there to celebrate choose a later date that isn’t over the holidays . If you don’t care about other people coming elope to your dream place on thanksgiving. But by having a thanksgiving anniversary you will always and forever be paying more to travel celebrate etc. if it were me I’d just wait. I would not attend a thanksgiving wedding unless it was my sister and even then they better be serving turkey

katebluestone : Thank you for that! I guess I’m not totally sure why it couldn’t still happen in the evening, after 4:30 pm. What sort of preparations would be not allowed? I mean you could start h&mu then and have the venue start setting up? It just seems easier to have a (ex) 7pm wedding on a saturday a different weekend than try to make thanksgiving sunday work AND force everyone to take more days off around it.
OP seems pretty set on this weekend, but hopefully these posts will prompt a change in date!
