I am getting married next month. It will be a very causual outside wedding. I have fair skin, pink undertones, and blue eyes. What color eyeshadow, preferably from the drugstore, would look good? I am 47, so I don’t want anything frosty or glittery. Also, should I line my bottom lashes? My dress is a very light aqua/ mint green.
Would also love some recommendations for drugstore foundation. My skin is combination, with large pores, fine lines, and some acne scars. What will give me a smooth finish?
Thanks so much!!

@KimberTN: If you don’t mind, a picture of yourself would be quite helpful when making recommendations!
I’ve heard great things about Revlon Photoready Foundation, but haven’t tried it myself. I might suggest going to a drugstore with a beauty counter, and they should have someone available to assist in picking stuff out!

@KimberTN: my favorite foundation is neutrogena healthy skin.
i love using revlon photoready primer underneath it, but lately it has been drying my skin out way too much. if you have an oilier skin, it makes your foundation go on SO smoothly though!

You might also want to check out the makeup geek website to find a look you like. She does use a lot of MAC/Sephora type brands but at the bottom of the page she’ll almost always will include a version of the same look for makeup you can buy at a drug store.

Neutral eyeshadow looks best with blue eyes. Champagne, brown, gold, and beige are all complementary colors and would look stunning with your eyes!
I’m a freelance makeup artist and used to work for Stila cosmetics. If I were your artist, I’d use a neutral primer on your lids first (the primer should be the same shade as your skin) to cover up any redness and keep the eyeshadow in place all night.
I’d then use a light champagne/beige shadow and wash that all over your eyelid. Then, I’d use a deeper brown shadow for your crease. Blend, blend, blend! Then I’d use a shimmery gold/champagne shadow on your lid only. Use either a chocolate brown or black pencil for your eye liner. I’d use that on your top lids only. For your bottom lids, I’d recommend using a brown shadow to lightly line your lower lashes.
Here are my recommendations for drugstore shadows:http://www.almay.com/products/eyes/eyeshadow/almay-intense-i-color-bold-nudes-kit.aspx
And for department store shadows: http://www.sephora.com/photo-op-eye-shadow-trio-P292408?skuId=1349737
Here’s a makeup application video you may find useful! Stila makes WONDERFUL eyeshadows, too. You can use them wet or dry. (Wet is great for liners!)

Thanks so much for your great advice on eyes. Can you recommend a pinky drugstore blush and lipstick for fair skin? I am so overwhelmed by all the products. I want a blush that is luminous without being frosty or with sparkles- just a healthy looking glow.

For lip color, I’d mix Revlon’s Just Bitten Lip Balm in Cherish and Honey. You can add a light pink/nude lip liner, too, just make sure you feather inside your lips so you don’t have any harsh lines around your mouth. You could also try Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lip Color in Neverending Nude.
For cheeks, try Maybelline’s Fit Me Blush in Medium Pink.
Good luck! 🙂
